surely Eeejay is a she though.

and no I wouldn't put on ignore-whatever that means-filters out posts?-she provides good news reports when she is deciding to be a reporter as opposed to when she insists she is "not"a reporter.

and I have never seen anyone be quite so wrong so often.

Hi. Do I sense a few angels around these parts? I'll have to get my wing-clippers out.

OUCH! that is not the tool to use!

better if you just join in the angel roasting next door-the two boys have started-can't quite see who it is in there with them darling. You can make her airtight if you want.

I didn't think any woman alive was daft enough to think "roasting" funny!

.
" Roasting " used to mean just "giving somebody a bit of a difficult time ", which I am sure is what Vilt genuinely meant.
Unfortunately , it also is now used to describe a very demeaning sex act .
An expression , therefore , better not used these days , to avoid possible offence.
Back " On Topic " , the size of this pretty unimportant thread certainly shows how popular Alex Sibley still is.
Why isn`t he on the television more ?
B.T.R. might have been watchable with him in it.

You're very informed about modern day culture, Old Fogey! Either that or I've led a very sheltered life - I've never heard of 'roasting' in that context before.

For as long as I can remember, whenever somebody got a roasting it meant they'd got a right bollocking.

I believe that is what I suggested , but without being uncouth.
As for my user-name, it is just that.
I am no more an " old fogey " , than Bystander is an " uninvolved onlooker "

I think America has a term for Roasting where people look at someones past.

A good example is an episode of The Simpsons where Homer is roasted.

Gump Roast (DABF12 / SI-1312) 21 Apr 2002
The Springfield Friars Club roasts Homer, with help from clips from past episodes..."but don't call it a clip show".

Well done on your 500th pos Whiteladyt!

Any one know how much one of these car mats might fetch on e-bay then?

Unfortunately your suggestion resulted in misunderstanding, whereas my description of roasting was clear, concise and without ambiguity.

Those angels just don't play nice, you try to wind them up and they completely ignore you.
