I seem to remember not too long ago that BBC1 moved Neighbours to 7pm during Wimbledon and/or Summer Olympics/Commonwealth Games (?) which meant a nightly cartoon at 7.25 for 2 weeks! Late 90s? Early 2000s?
Wimbledon 1994 - the World Cup was on as well so presumably they thought that, instead of shifting it about all over the place, they'd give it a consistent slot. When Ireland played at teatime they moved it to 7.35 - a Tuesday, with EastEnders at eight - which I think is its latest ever. The cartoons were unbilled. Top of the Pops moved to eight o'clock.

Also, they moved the kids shows to BBC2 but ran them 4.30 to six, and I remember some episodes of Blue Peter getting in the BBC2 Top Ten.

Well that's not a particularly good sign if The X Factor is down 700,000 week on week.... and now with Jedward gone....

Spiderman must have dented it - good rating that for Five. Not a good rating for me in the RPG though. dubsj, do you have the Gavin and Stacey Xmas repeat rating?

Good rating for I'm a Celebrity though, Top Gear down on last week as a result. Family Fortunes did well, while BBC1 held up well as always.

I am quite suprised that The X Factor didn't get another series high last night with John and Edward's eviction.

Allthough still very good figures.

I'm a Celebrity doing fantastically well. A Series high for last night.

I would say the Dr Who lead in helped TXF last week as it gathered a bigger audience watching tv

The number of people watching TV at 8pm yesterday was nearly the same as last week: 29.7m yesterday, 29.9m last week.

I think it's more of a case of Spider-Man 3 on Five denting X Factor's figures as it got nearly 2m more than what the other films have been getting recently in that slot.

Countryfile and All Star Family Fortunes are still doing really well in the 7pm slot. IACGMOOH at 9pm did particularly well with its highest rating since the 2005 final.

Looking at the next few weeks, the films on Five that run until 9pm are:

29/11/2009 - Firefox (1982)
06/12/2009 - Kelly's Heroes (1970)

Can't see them denting X Factor at all.

It'll be interesting to see if this year's figures reflect how many people have been watching for the show itself or inflated because of the twins. Personally I think both shows will be down atleast 1m next week.

Blimey, the Jack Osbourne show really tanked considering it had a 10m lead-in! Good rating for the Gavin & Stacey repeat.

EastEnders over Christmas, as noted above has 11 episodes. I think, it means that they will be having an episode on Boxing Day, despite the fact it is a Saturday. I suspect:

Episode 1 - 21/12 - Monday
Episode 2 - 22/12 - Tuesday
Episode 3 - 24/12 - Thursday (Christmas Eve)
Episode 4 - 25/12 - Friday (Christmas Day #1)
Episode 5 - 25/12 - Friday (Christmas Day #2)
Episode 6 - 26/12 - Saturday (Boxing Day)

Episode 7 - 28/12 - Monday
Episode 8 - 29/12 - Tuesday
Episode 9 - 31/12 - Thursday (New Year's Eve)
Episode 10 - 01/01 - Friday (New Year's Day #1)
Episode 11 - 01/01 - Friday (New Year's Day #1)

The descriptions for each episode match up with the plans we've heard for when certain things are meant to happen.

If the above does happen, I'm interested to see where in the Saturday schedule EastEnders will fit in given that there is an episode of Casualty and The Impressions Show also on that day, along with a Strictly Special and Total Wipeout Christmas Special.

I can see BBC doing:

17:10 - BBC News
17:30 - Total Wipeout Xmas Special
18:30 - Strictly Come Dancing Xmas Special
20:00 - EastEnders
20:30 - Casualty
21:20 - Lottery
21:30 - The Impressions Show With Culshaw And Stephenson
22:00 - BBC News
22:25 - Match of the Day

Will ITV be airing soaps on Boxing Day, despite the fact that it is a Saturday? (note - I know some people are saying Boxing Day is the Monday 28th, but IMO, it's still the Saturday!)

When was the last time EastEnders was on a Saturday? Makes for an interesting guessing game anyway now we actually know what will be on over Christmas!

The only problem with the above is that Outnumbered looks set for Boxing Day. Maybe Impressions Show maybe on Xmas Day @ 22:30?

Firstly Boxing Day is the saturday, it only moves to the monday if the 26th is on a Sunday, so anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong

Secondly I can not see EE going on th Saturday. Either it will be on Monday - Friday for the 2 weeks with 2 episodes on Christmas Day. Or it will be as you suggest but with the episode going out on Sunday 27th December rather than the Saturday. I wouldn't be too sure on EE showing 2 episodes on New Yeras though because I can't see ITV moving around their soaps on that day, as though they change their schedule for Christmas they rarely change it for New Years so unless EE goes out at 6.30 and 8.00 or 8.00 and 9.00 I can't see where it would go?

Corrie is on 21st Dec, 24th Dec and 25th Dec according to ITV Pix. So pretty much normal apart from the xmas day episode being one hour long.

Possibly. Perhaps Mariah Carey broke a few TV's as well. Or maybe Spiderman stole a few viewers. A 700,000 decline is still less than a 5% change week-on-week anyway. But I think this might be the closest that we've seen the performance show and the results show?

the Now show on ITV 2 seems to be doing much better than previous years.
Definitely. Looking at BARB, it was rarely above 600,000 last year. Seems to be a significant improvement, far more than the main show.

Just remembered ITV Publicity count their weeks from Saturday to the following Friday meaning xmas week is 19th-25th Dec.

Therefore the above info I've posted isn't a useful answer to your question about Sat 26th.

Yes the spinoff is doing well this year. I don't like the format though it isn't as good as say Xtra Factor or even BBLB. They could do so much more with it.

I don't think they'd have an episode on Saturday. Maybe they'll have two episodes on Tuesday 29th December? It's quite tricky on New Year's Day to have 2 episodes due to ITV's soap block, but I suspect they'll go with 18:30 and 20:00 with Doctor Who sandwiched in between. But I can't see anything obvious on the page which might go on at 21:00 on New Year's Day.

Whilst 13.7m (14.4m peak) is still great for X Factor, I'm still pretty shocked it dipped especially with Jedward leaving. It's bizarre. Not great either.

Regarding Christmas why wouldn't EastEnders have an episode on Wednesday? They often have the show stripped across the whole week during Christmas.
