An expected drop for I'm a Celebrity... - any news on the 10pm news figures?

I can see Paradox dropping off next week due to the huge negative reaction its been getting on the boards here. This year's Apparitions is guess.

Looks like CSI: Miami took a hit against Paradox and to an extent Relocation but I expect it will recover next week, IAC took a drop but still good considering the lead in. A History of Scotland did very very considering it was a repeat and Sea Patrol is holding steady for Five and a recommission is likely at this point and is currently their second best performing night after Monday.

Very good for the CSI repeat. Looks like it might have won its slot but hard to tell.

Five should air a CSI repeat around that time every weeknight. Obviously the start time would vary particularly with all the 9pm movies.

Thanks for this. Very interesting reading. The Big Bang Theory has grown into a ratings-powerhouse. I'm so glad because I love it. At one point, I worried it would be cancelled.

I wonder where Fox will slot-in Lie To Me? I didn't like it at first, but the episode with Cal's sarf London mate, played by Lennie James, hooked me. Its second season is so much better than its first was. But for some, it's still an acquired taste.

Just a heads up that new episodes of The Big Bang Theory land on E4 on Dec 17 from 9pm followed by brand new How I Met Your Mother at 9:30pm.

Good to see E4 airing (relatively) close to US transmission for once!

In addition, a sneak peak showing of Glee airs Dec 15 at 9pm followed by a 5 minute preview of all the new shows arriving in time for new year.

How I Met Your Mother is Season 4 but I imagine they'll show Season 5 afterwards if the move to primetime works out, I can't wait for Glee as a huge fan of musicals.

Glee isn't for me, but it should rate rather well for E4 IMO. The episode description might be exaggerating a tad when it dubs it a "phenomenon" though.

Barb has updated for the w/e 15 Nov 2009. X Factor improves its highest ever rating by just two thousand viewers and has 15.02m. Good timeshifts all round with Doctor Who up 800,000 to 9.94m, Im a Celeb up 750,000 to 10.51m. Top Gear's timeshift was excellent rising 930,000 to 6.41m. Also Strictly tops the 10m mark for the first time this year.

I don't think its US ratings justify the 'phenomenon' description. Although the hype around it has been pretty big and the music from the show has been doing quite well on the charts over there. I wonder if we'll see a similar effect over here as I presume they'll be releasing the songs on iTunes as they've been doing worldwide.

I love it anyway - not only are the songs brilliantly arranged but the writing is fantastic - and it's a perfect fit for E4.

It's a solid hit in America but not a phenomenon, i expect it will get a boost when American Idol returns.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here Now! drew 1.12m - good call to have the trial announcement on ITV2 as that will have boosted it significantly. Not sure how well it will do tonight without the main ITV1 show but it's done surprisingly well this series.

Why didn't they bring it forward to 9pm tonight? An obvious opportunity missed.

Have to agree it seems a bit odd that they didn't capatalise on it. They're only showing a repeat of Trinity in that slot.

With strong showings from all terrestrials all seem dented. I think without IAC Paradox would have managed at least 4.5m for its premiere-I can see it dropping below 4m million next week with ITV's mucher stronger schedule of Corrie/IAC(90 minutes).

Also likewise for CSI and Relocation-both were dented by strong competition.

As expected for IAC-the usual Tuesday drop & stronger competition. I don't think the KP leaving has had much effect, because it was bound to be lower than last Tuesday anyway. Thursday's edition should break 8m again.

Hardly surprising to see I'm A Celebrity fall given the much poorer lead in and exit of 'her' from the jungle. The big test will be to see whether it can hold on to its 8m followers - especially without an episode tonight.

Paradox is a big flop, and should drop further considering the terrible reviews its been getting. Its been an utterly awful year for new drama on BBC One. Garrow's Law is the only new one that stands any chance of returning as far as I can remember.

Some very healthy timeshifts for the "super-sunday" a couple of weeks back. A shame to see Doctor Who pull up just a shade short on 10m - but still a very good performance. Top Gear's fantastic time shift offers some comfort for the sligtly lower ratings its been pulling the last two weeks.

In related news - theres a new BARB panel coming into use in January, and it looks like ratings are set for a 4% bump across the board.

A fairly balanced chart again, with 10 shows BBC1, 9 shows ITV1 and one show BBC2. A very good timeshift for Top Gear there increasing nearly a million against the overnights. The X Factor and Strictly both post new series highs - The X Factor's is slightly surprising given that the Sunday overnight was 60,000 lower (I think) than the previous week.

Same goes for Collision, the series officially averaged 7.45 million - only one edition slipped below 7 million, and even that was only by 0.01m. Can't help but think ITV will definitely be doing stripped shows of a similar nature again.

Not a lot really stands out for me though. If I was ITV, I would have actually put The Winner's Story the Sunday after the final in the 8pm slot on ITV1 instead of ITV2. OK, guaranteed it wouldn't get 13m like the live shows does, but IMO it'd still get a healthy 5/6 million in that slot. Same applies for the IAC shows - they should put it probably in a 5pm slot where it'd get decent figures and then repeat it on ITV2.

Just adding to a point I read about This Morning getting a 30% share on Monday - it seems high, very high. The highest share I've seen it get was 24.3% when it went up against BBC One's State Opening of Parliament. I dont have data for Monday to hand, but I'll let you know when I get ahold of it for sure...

Today it had 1.08m (21.7%), comfortably beaten by BBC One's daytime line-up which consisted of Homes Under The Hammer (1.42m, 29.3%) and To Buy Or Not To Buy (1.31m, 27.8%) repeats, a new episode of Cash In The Attic (1.35m, 27.4%), and a repeat of Bargain Hunt (2.07m, 33.2%).

This is the usual trend, This Morning is usually steady with roughly a 20% share loosing out to BBC One's line-up which typically averages 27% during the same period.

ABC will be relieved that V has stopped bleeding viewers before it goes on hiatus. It's going to be moving slot because DWTS is likely to shift to 8pm Tuesdays now that Lost has been confirmed for 9pm Tuesdays. DWTS not doing too great compared to last year, but those are still solid numbers for a show in its 9th cycle.

CBS seemed to get a lift despite DWTS reaching its climax. They'll be hoping NCIS:LA doesn't just slump back down to its former level. Crossover episodes are a regular stunt used in sweeps months, CBS have already done a 3 part crossover with all the CSI's which worked very well for one week anyway.

FOX can't be too thrilled with the numbers its getting from SYTYCD? Definitely hit by DWTS (as it has been all season) but it hasn't been doing too well at all. IMO, they would have been better sticking to its summer slots of 8pm Wednesday and 8pm Thursday. I'd expect that they'll do that next year if they get X Factor USA. And it perhaps suggests that America's Got Talent is best kept in the summer.

NBC getting good numbers out of The Biggest Loser as usual. Jay Leno doing best on Tuesdays and he seems to be performing in line with expectations.

It dipped a bit in its first season and wasn't helped by the writers strike but I think the show has definitely improved in seasons 2 and 3 which often happens with comedies as you get to know the characters and running jokes etc.

It could end up as the #1 non-sports show on TV this week!


They're missing a series of Hells Kitchen as well (2 were ordered for 2010). Also, based on that schedule, Glee finishes on the 8th of June which just won't happen. I'm guessing that it will run some double episodes across Tuesdays and Wednesdays once Human Target finishes.

I wonder if poor numbers for SYTYCD? in America may affect the numbers it gets over here for BBC...
