Nothing above 1m after the Oz soaps again

Last night's episode was the second they 'made up' as they lost two episodes at the end of August.

The episode on Wednesday 11th November is to make up for an episode they'll miss during I'm a Celebrity.

Ah right ok. Still seems though that ITV want Corrie back on Wednesdays as well as Thursdays. Because at first Grimefighters was pulling in a solid 5m on Wednesdays, but has now been permanently shifted to Tuesdays where it's getting less than 3m.

Good solid rating for Waterloo Road. It'll be interesting to see how much football affects it next week. The Midsomer rating is okay, but like ZoeM said it would be getting closer to 7m if it was in a consistent Sunday slot. But it does currently fill the non football gaps well. I'm just wondering what will go on non football weeks next year because there's about 10-15 Midsomers left until 2011 so there'll be plenty of weeks when ITV'll have to put something non football/awards/midsomer on.

Corrie's audiences have been good for the Wednesday episodes after the revamp, higher than most Thursday ratings! Andrew Marr's audience is about 1m down from his "History of Modern Britain" series in 2007, but still comfortably above BBC2's slot average. True Blood on C4 dropping closer to that 1m mark, not great. And Britain's Best Brain started badly on Five. Not a good ngiht for Five at all.

Frost or Foyles War perhaps? I think 2 hour dramas will now mainly play on Wednesdays instead of Sundays from here on - of course they can run repeats during the summer

and according to reports, Caroline Quentin is in talks to join The Bill.

Sounds like a British take on House to me.

And Caroline Quentin on The Bill? How the mighty have fallen. Are they just going to turn the programme into Blue Murder? And that would surely cast doubt over the future of The Life of Riley, as presumably The Bill is a full-time gig.

I think Frost will stay on Sunday for its final 2 episodes. I hope it airs on the first two Sundays of 2010, I think it'd get massive figures. But yeah, Foyle could be shown on Wednesdays. Also the new Prisoner could air on Wednesdays if shown in a 2-hour format like what AMC's doing.


According to the reports, it's just for 6 weeks. So she would probably have time to do Life of Riley, if it gets a third series.

Very impressive figures for BBC One, especially Waterloo Night, last night up against both Corrie and Midsummer Murders. I wonder if there was a certain amount of 'Tom Chambers effect' regarding Waterloo Road's figures? Although it'll be going up against the footie next week, I could see it maintaining those figures - or something around 4.5m - as it's more a female skewed programme than the footie.

The BBC need to watch that they don't over egg the pudding, as there have been rumblings that it could become an all year around programme. I've never really seen it myself, but I can't really see it having the legs to be running 52 weeks a year.

With BBC One having to fit in Masterchef too at some point, I think they should possibly look at splitting Waterloo Road up although that's probably difficult now, with series ordered and stories having been written.

I'd go with something like this personally on Wednesdays and Thursdays:

Janaury - March Masterchef/Masterchef
April - June Waterloo Road/Watchdog
July - mid-September Celebrity Masterchef/Celebrity Masterchef + Bang Goes The Theory/Filler
mid-September - Christmas Waterloo Road/Watchdog

This would give Watchdog (and Anne) a good rest between series and would also limit the clashes between the Masterchefs.

Waterloo road doing brilliantly, I don’t remember it getting anywhere near 5m in the previous series, Jimmy’s Food Factory doing well against Corrie, Though Midsomer Murders has the potential for better ratings, 5.9m is still good. That new quiz show on FIVE will drop and drop in the ratings each week IMO.

BBC1 Scotland had Celtic v Hearts on last night, so Waterloo Road's figure will drop in the officials.

That could easily have made up 0.7m of the audience, or there about.

Mind you, you would have to add on whatever Waterloo Road got on Sunday against X Factor in Scotland.

Even if it is in the 4ms in the officials, it is still very good.

So when the officials come out do they add on the Scotland figure for the show?

I'm not entirely sure about that, but they should do, it's only fair.

They will take off the figure for the football though.

No they don't, in yet another of BARB's pathetic rules, so expect WR's official rating to be a bit below 5m (about 4.7-4.8 probably).

I think the football will be higher than that surely? River City can manage 0.4m.

STV had the film "Wild Wild West" instead of Midsomer also

They couldn't on this occasion even if they wanted to cos last Sunday and last night are in different ratings weeks from each other.



Take off BBC Scotland figure but add on WR timeshift viewers.

If BBC1 mananged 5m, and the football had ~0.7m, then Waterloo Road would have had ~4.3m, which when timeshifted would go up to about 4.7-4.8m (the last series timeshifted pretty well).

I can still see WR settling at around 5m though, as it won't be against Midsomer most weeks, and Jimmy's Factory will give it a better lead in when Corrie isn't around. Series three two years ago wasn't hit at all by I'm a Celebrity (I think WR actually went up slightly against it) so they don't need to worry about that either. With 40 episodes commissioned, I'd feel pretty good right now if I worked at BBC1.

Fantastic points there. Leona probably was one of the reasons why the show became more exciting. Looking back pre-series 3 there was something almost boring about it all since it resulted in pretty much nothing. Now it's a really thrilling piece of television.

Hiya, this is a really random post but would anybody be able to tell me the viewing figures for BBC London news at 6.30pm and then later after the 10pm national news? Ideally I need the figures for the evening of 3 September 2009.

A CSI:NY repeat comfortably beat the 1.5 demo rating and 5.0m viewers for The Jay Leno Show on NBC.

I had a dream last night Harry Hill hosted a revived Crystal Maze, with Brian as his assistant.

I thought I'd post it, because I notice Harry Hill hasn't got many gigs despite his popularity.

I wonder whether we'll see him on any shows in the future.

Infact, last nights rating (and the Wednesday a few weeks ago) is higher than all the Thursday ratings since it moved from the 19.30 Wednesday slot. Highest Thursday overnight rating is 8.1m.
