The BBC has ordered a new 6 part drama called "The Accused". It's the "spiritual successor" to The Street and is expected to air next Autumn: http://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/news/c...007448.article

Advertising are predicting 20 million viewers for the X Factor final. In the article, it also says that the final will air on Sunday 13th December: http://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/news/f...007416.article

And a few months ago we heard that ITV would show The Sun Military Awards for the first time, this year. It is expected to be broadcast on Wednesday 23rd December: http://www.thisiswiltshire.co.uk/new..._up_for_award/

Better than I initially thought! But I think tonight's episode should do well and clear the current 8.1m Thursday high, due to the storyline and no MasterChef.

Also from Broadcast, Paul O'Grady's production company Olga TV looks set to produce a replacement TV chat show for C4, hosted by guest presenters - on the condition that O'Grady himself regularly guest presenters the show.

To be honest, what C4 need is a fresh approach at a chat show in that slot - not sure it being made by the same people is the best idea.

Personally I don't think 5m for Waterloo Road is that fantastic purely because it is now not up against the Bill which has a similar audience to it. I also think that because of this it will probably have higher overnights but less timeshift than last year. Unfortunately for ITV1 the moving of The Bill has not worked out in the Thursday 9pm slot and its now giving BBC1 an extra million on a Wednesday at 8.

What time has Harry Hill got to do any other projects? First he has to film 20+ episodes of TV Burp, during which time he has every single television programme on British TV, at least 3 times in case he misses something first time round probably. Then he has to write and record the voiceovers for 375 editions of You've Been Framed.

Has anyone got the figures for Most Haunted Live this week please?

So it'll basically be like the guest host weeks of the current show but with Paul guest hosting on a show that used to be his own? Sounds odd.

I'd love to know this too, would be very grateful to find out. I know there's at least 30 of us watching!

Saturday will be a big night for viewers, with it being shown live on both Living and also Virgin1 on Freeview. Well should be

Why that face?

I forgot about You've Been Framed, actually. I don't think You've Been Framed takes too much effort.

And TV Burp shouldn't be on for so long.

He'd be great on Crystal Maze!

The last thing he wants is more tv work. He wants to tour as well remember and he also does books & DVD's and other lucrative work. TV work is as much about name exposure to generate other work as it is a career in itself.

I suppose.

Though, he was planning another project anyway, so he must have some time on his hands. It would only have to be 10 parts.

You've Been Framed is repeated a lot.

And, TV Burp is padded out for too many weeks.

Harry Hill's also writing a new spoof soap opera called "Soapington Way". So he is quite a busy man at the moment!

I highly doubt that is happening. Its been in the works for years and last piloted two years ago. It obviously didn't work.

I think that project was dumped. He's been doing that since 2007! I heard it was dumped in favour of an extended TV Burp, which was a sensible deal from ITV who never see the bigger picture.

In an interview a couple of weeks ago, Harry said:
Quote:
“We hear you’re also writing a spoof soap opera...

"I've written most of it, but I haven’t got round to filming it because I spend so much time on TV Burp. The original idea was that I wasn't going to be in it and we made a pilot like that, which was good. But then they said they wanted me in it, so we made another pilot, which wasn’t as good."”

Source: WhatsOnTv

So it looks like it still might be happening, but they've had a few setbacks along the way.

I have absolutely no idea.. Sometimes I look for a smilie and none seems suitable.

My point would be that Harry has 2 TV projects that look very time-comsuming. I'd love to know how long he spents working on YBF! every year. They do seem to make a lot of programmes.

And it's clear from some of the jokes on TV Burp (especially the "Isn't it funny when you look like a piece of furniture in the background" jokes) that Harry watches every milisecond of so many different programmes. TV Burp must be a 24/7 job. But I'm glad it runs for as long as it does as it's one of the bestest programmes on the telly.

ITV2 tonight:

8.00 Paris Hilton's Best American Friend Forever
9.00 Peter Andre: The Next Chapter
10.00 Fearne And Peaches Geldolf

I gob in my hand and even that's not as shallow as ITV2's line-up. If Harry Hill is watching Paris's show for TV Burp, he'll have doubled the IQ of the audience in a stroke. I see ITV have dumped this out of the way opposite Emmerdale and Corrie. If the really want to keep this embarrassing acquisition for the public eye, they should stick it on against X Factor on Sunday night.

I switched this on whilst channel-hopping and now I'm transfixed. There honestly is no adjective to describe how unbelievably bad this programme is.

(ran out of smilies, I'm afraid)

Looking at this schedule, a thought occurs. Maybe ITV are inflicting damage on The Bill themselves by continually scheduling Katie and/or Peter against it. (Apologies if that's been stated before.)

I'm really happy if the X Factor finale is on Sunday. 20m is achievable.

Extremely good for Waterloo Road last night - that's going to offer some stability for BBC1 on a Wednesday night at least. The other channels are going to struggle once Spooks is brought out to work alongside it.

Midsomer Murders did well, but not brilliantly considering it was a new episode. I do fear for the franchise once Barnaby retires - I'm not sure Jones has the clout to carry the series on. Admittedly Troy coming back may work, and that's what the rumours indicate.

BBC2 and Channel 4 did well with the documentaries but oh dear for Five. A night without a US crime import is not very successful seemingly.

Because SCD doesn't have the entire combined weight of the nation's tabloids, free sheets and glossy mags actively promoting it (rather than merely reporting it), all feeding off the juicy titbits ITV is feeding them, selling more papers, that causing more people to watch, in a virtuous circle.

SCD doesn't have a carbon copy sister show on the same network which is stripped across the schedules, with an unanticipated worldwide YouTube sensation to kick it off, causing record figures and a knock-on effect on and introducing new viewers to the autumn version when it aired.

Also, I've not seen one single giant advertising hoarding tacked on the side of office blocks anywhere in the country imploring us to watch SCD on Saturday nights.

Oh, and TXF doesn't have the BSI deciding when it airs and for how long...

That's a turn up. Yes, the Scottish football may (but perhaps may not) have boosted BBC1's overnight figures, but it is still a stronger performance than last year. And sub-6m, in late October, with a strong Corrie lead in, is poor for Murderzzzz...

Even in 2000, for two clashing shows to get 14m and 12m respectively was unlikely - Millionaire started with 16m, Meldrew ended with 15m I think?

Damn the BSI for moving One Foot to Mondays in the first place.

My money's still on 14.8m.

Or that 6m need to watch twice?

When Dinnerladies in 2000 was pulling 11m on a Thursday night at 9.30pm and 5m for the 9.30pm Saturday repeat, you no doubt recognised it as a 16m comedy ratings juggernaut, yes?

Or Walking With Dinosaurs getting its blockbusting 20m for a nature documentary?

(15m Monday 8.30pm, 5m Sunday teatime)

Careful, Robbie. That almost sounds like a backhanded compliment to ITV.

Did both shows really pull in that many viewers? I knew they were popular (I loved both shows) but I didn't realise they were that successful. Obviously the lack of 8.30pm Coronation Street helped back in those days in reagrds to Walking with Dinosaurs. And a wider audience base for terrestrial TV.

Surprised to see the Beeb putting the Churchill drama Into the Storm, the follow-up to the utterly superb The Gathering Storm, out at 8.30pm on Monday on BBC2 - up against Corrie, and Murderland/Life. The first one got 4m some years ago on BBC2 and another 4m when repeated not long after in a late slot on BBC1. Seems to be crying out for a Sunday 9pm slot on BBC1 - can't do worse than Emma or Garrow's Law?

No Albert Finney though, will take the edge off it...

From ITV's perspective, the scheduling of TXF this year has been a triumph - tempered slightly by the damage SCD is doing during the clash on Saturdays.

Walking with Dinosaurs took everyone by surprise. It was quite heavily promoted, and obviously quite ground breaking, but nobody really expected it to launch with 15m. With the Sunday repeat, I recall that it maintained a combined 16-17m throughout its run, with 12-13m for the first showing (helped by EE getting probably 14-15m for a first airing still in those days, and ITV not having to put out 6 Corries a week in order to keep the meter ticking over)
