The Inside Sport branding probably put some viewers off. Inside Sport is not a popular show. I've seen it rate as low as 0.6m in an 11.05pm slot.

Odd One In looks like a flop.

Magic Numbers could go either way but with Stephen Mulhern at the helm I'm not so sure.

Yeah, definitely my Flop of the Year nomination. Totally Saturday would be a close second, but the Norton vehicle did at least manage to stay in the schedule until the end of its run!

Pretty good night for everyone, BBC One held steady against IAC with Gavin and Stacey and QI I expect Gavin and Stacey to go up next week, BBC Two did okay with The Restaraunt and Natural World, Channel 4 had a great night with River Cottage and The Queen which has proven to be a success and Five did fine with the football although I expect they are waiting to see what the upcoming fixtures are like because a Liverpool/Everton Europa Match is likely to bring in huge figures.

Whoever thought putting Bang Goes the Theory at 8pm was very silly and I don't expect the DIY SOS special will do much better.

So the Take that & Elton John type shows aren't continuing - it's a shame , they were a welcome alternative.

I thought they'd show a marple repeat or somethink this year.

I do like Alastair Stewart - ITV News seem to be using him as the "main" anchor since his move to the EN.

I wonder if it'll be Alastair in London with the fireworks like the BBC? That was the main problem with the Music type shows they didn't show the fireworks - although i expect it to be lower than BBC's version it could rate better the music shows.

Straight off good thing for BBC/ITV is that two out of three England games are in primetime.

There's a few 'meh' games in there, for instance I don't think Serbia v Ghana will do very well, but Italy v Paraguay and Brazil v Ivory Coast look like interesting counters football and ratings wise.

Strange that ITV have nothing lined up for Vernon Kay next year, would be a better choice for Take Me Out in my opinion. With his deal expiring, no Beat The Star and being somewhat down the pecking order after Ant & Dec, Philip Schofield, Dermot and with Paul O'Grady returning to the fold, I reckon he might move or at least end the golden handcuffs deal.

Perhaps he will be tempted by a move to SCD to join Tess D. What chance Stephen Mulhern presenting Family Fortunes this time next year ?

Although Married, Single, Other has got "low ratings" written all over it. I reckon that could be next year's "Mutual Friends"

The Prisoner has had a slating from those who've already seen it. Has it already been shown in America?

Otherwise - looks like there could be an almighty fight for the coveted Monday 9pm slot.

Looks like there won't be a coveted Sunday 9pm slot until April. The 2010 entertainment trailer describes DOI as "The Sunday Night Spectacular". So those who argue that DOI should do an X factor and run across Saturday and Sunday - it ain't gonna happen!!! I've always said the adage "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" comes into play here. The DOI/Wild At Heart sandwich has worked brilliantly for ITV1 for the last 2 Winters so why change it?

There's a host of brand-new shiny-floor in the entertainment trailer, all of which are clearly thinking "big-scale". ITV are clearly hoping at least one of them will make it big and fill the gap in their Winter Saturday nights.

I reckon he would still do Family Fortunes but have a non exclusive contract with ITV, who's presenting The Whole 19 Yards as that hasn't got a presenter yet AFTIK.

Poor old Stephen. He's watched his Ministry Of Mayhem co-presenter, Holly Willoughby become ITV's golden girl with Dancing On Ice, This Morning and The Xtra Factor while he's lumbered with Working-class Cretins Do The Funniest Things.

Looking back and in 2006 the BBC had one group game then first pick of round 2, with ITV having two groups and first pick of the quarter final.

I'd expect it then to be the opposite this time, with ITV having one group game and a round 2 game, with the BBC having two groups games. Not quite sure whether it's the channel who has just one group game which gets first pick of those, or whether the other channel gets first pick (and third) as they don't get first pick for round 2.

Also if England win the group it looks like all their knock-out games will be 7.30pm kick offs, but if they finish as runner ups their games will be 3pm kick-offs, but on a Sunday and Saturday, so not that bad.

Aren't most matches going in primetime or at least close to it due to the time differences between UK and South Africa? I think it's about 2 hours time difference.

The X Factor wasn't broken though. I didn't expect DoI to move for this series as shows had already been commissioned for Saturday nights, plus Holly is still settling into This Morning, but as it's an odds-on certainty Popstar to Opera Star won't make series 2, I fully expect it to be considered for 2011, with Phillip and Holly probably down to three days a week on This Morning for the period.

X Factor wasn't broken but ITV1's Autumn Sunday nights in 2008 sure as heck was. Also, you could argue that X Factor was broken in the sense that its results show last year went out very late, often around 10pm. the move to Sunday brought it into a much more family-friendly slot.

I actually meant to write "it ain't gonna happen - not in 2010, anyway". Interstingly, Pop Star To Opera Star merits no mention in ITV1's 2010 entertainment trailer. I'm assuming that because they have no clips rather than no confidence.

No surprise that ITV are doing this, giving the huge success of BBC1's Countryfile. No harm in them testing the waters to see how it might fare away from Eastenders.

I would say it wasn't broken but damaged after years of ITV treating it very badly by not giving it a fixed time and it going out as late as 10:30 on occasions. Now with a fixed slot that is accesible for everyone it can achieve its full potential.

Winter Saturdays have really lacked a big entertainment show though ever since DOI moved. They seem to be going someway to resolve that with a few new commissions but, as everyone has said, Popstar to Opera Star is NOT the answer.

It does look good, underpinned by ratings bankers such as Frost, Lewis, Foyles War, Under Suspicion, Law & Order UK and Whitechapel. The test will be for Identity and Married, Single, Other.

There is some glossy looking factual in there and good to see some natural history returning to ITV with Ray Mears.

Corrie's 50th should provide the opportunity for some entertainment spin-offs.

Incidentally, Davina's 'Got to Dance' on Sky 1 is going out live on Sunday nights from 24th Jan.

Where it will be totally crushed by DOI.

Not related to ratings but I wonder if any UK broadcasters is going to pick up Steven Seagal: Lawman, I think Five/Five USA would pick it up or Bravo/Virgin1.

Are you surprised? He's an awful presenter outside of kid's shows.
