Second actually - there was one earlier. Those bloody Ant and Dec Nintendo ads are seriously annoying me though - I think I'd rather Sheilas Wheels on loop.

Having been a fan of Dead Ringers and to an extent Alistair McGowan a few years back, I had absolutely no interest in watching this tonight - just feels like it's all been seen before, so why bother?

I fear it will get well and truly trounced by Piers and Dannii.

On the plus side, most of the comments on TISWCAS in the DS forums have been very positive. I found it fun rather than funny but will return to watch programme 2 in a fortnight.

I suspect there's a few people on this thread who would have liked The One Show sketches with their banal "coming-up" items. "Phil Tufnell meets the eighth most boring family in Swansea."

Me too! They've replaced the boy who wants to do a pooh as my most irritating advert. First they have a go at Kelly Brook, now they do these bloody adverts. Ant and Dec are seriously losing their nice guys image.

UTV had a rare Saturday night opt out from the network last night to celebrate UTVs 50th birthday having started broadcasting at 4.45pm on Saturday October 31st, 1959. They opted out from YBF at 7pm and are opting out again tonight from the TV Burp repeat at 6.45pm

Tut! They're getting as bad as STV.

Good night for the Beeb, with both Merlin and Strictly performing well. Quite a poor night for ITV though, Harry Hill and The X Factor both considerably down on last week.

Are those shares correct for Merlin? It implies there were more people watching TV at 6 (24m) than at half 7 (22.8m)?

Glad to see Merlin holding up still despite the early start times. It's the sort of expensive production that needs the ratings to justify itself.

Even earlier next week though.

Ridiculous scheduling though, taking it off next week, meaning a 2 week gap to episode 2

It's actually 27.5%. Apologies.

It's the only rating I'm interested in for Saturday nights. I really want another series. Slightly worried for next week though, but it is only a one-off.

I think Harry Hill will get a bumper repeat figure tonight. Last night ITV were particularly hit by Halloween (not such a big issue for the older skewing BBC1 schedule)

I wouldn't be surprised if it outrated last night's showing and was close to 6m. Last week's repeat got 5.3m and that was when Saturday's showing had 6.8m.

That's SCD's best share all series is it not?

I think SCD has really picked up (as a programme) the last couple of weeks and hopefully the Blackpool show next week will get a figure closer to 9m.

Yes but its share can improve for 2 reasons; being either more people watching the show itself or less people watching other shows at the same time (ie. the total tv audience was lower)

any got a rating for yesterdays England-Australia Rugby League game on BBC1?

it was the first live RL international on the BBC for years, so I'm intrigued as to how it rated.

I saw a little bit of The Impressions Show With Culshaw And Stephenson and thought it was really good, but it's just wasted in that slot, too late for a family to watch it together, the gap between episode one and episode two is just stupid. I really think a series like this would do really well stripped across Christmas. Saying that, 4m is a decent rating.

Everybody braced for RobbieSykes' post? I expect he's laughing his socks off at the X Factor drop. Who'd have thought Halloween would make so much difference? 1.38m. But I guess it was lovely weather for the time of year last night.

Next Saturday will be Guy Fawkes firework displays, won't it? (Closest Saturday to Nov 5th). Another reason to take away some of X Factor's younger audience. Increases the chance of Strictly beating X Factor across the 15 minute overlap.

Love how 10.19m is considered "quiate a poor night". I do think though as The X Factor gets shorter they'd have been better off cutting it back from the start time, rather than the end time, though after years of it moving around the schedules, it is nice to have a fairly fixed 8pm start time.

The BBC should surely switch the Lottery and Casualty too.

So that's getting a Saturday slot on 12th December on The X Factor final weekend. IMO ITV would have been better off holding it back for the next week.

Don't know why they credit Cheryl though with the surge in X Factor ratings - now Simon Cowell is clearly bored of her she's adding even less to the show this year than last year.

Interesting figures. I think as others have hinted we have a fairly unique situation developing for tonight with the repeat of TV Burp likely to outrate the first showing.
