Both shows are occupying a slot that neither would usually occupy. They can both be "blamed".

They can't put Corrie on the Wednesday and run Thursday as usual. Then they would end up with Emmerdale getting slaughtered at 8pm and I'm A Celebrity getting a rubbish lead-in.
Corrie will definitely suffer, but overall, it's probably going to work out well for ITV. It's not ideal, but this is probably the best scenario for them given the hour long episode of Eastenders.
