D.M.N. was it really necessary to duplicate my post 8 minutes later? Just further to scroll.
Anyway, cannot wait for the peaks to be released. |

Great again for X Factor. It just keeps going up. Everywhere I go/read, people are talking about it. Extraordinary.
Antiques Roadshow held up well. Pleased to see Die Hard 4.0 do well for Channel 4 in a very competitive slot. |

The entire series averaged 8.5m in the overnights, exactly the same as the 2007 series average. A brilliant performance. |

Doc Martin got 9.5m (34%) last night.

Nothing much more needs to be said about XF, because after last night most people I think were expecting it to top 14m and I think it will continue to increase next week aswell. That said for a show to continually top 13m week on week with tough competition is amazing. Very good result foe Die Hard 4 in one of the toughest slots of the week and also Garrow's Law held up surprisingly well with ITV1, ITV2 and CH4 upping their game. |

Excellent for Doc Martin. A series high, and to average out as the same as the 2007 series is amazing really, considering the tougher competition and general drop in ratings (particuarly for ITV dramas). It did seem at the beginning of the series that it was going to fall below 7m, but after Waking The Dead finished it kept on increasing, as it did in 2007 and that episode should top 10m in the officials sending it comfortably into the top 10 shows of the year once again.

Just shows how in touch you are with the broadcasting world really, I could never make predictions like that.

TXF is certainly storming away, can only imgaine it will be up again next week, it's not my cup of tea, but it's certainly captured peoples imagination, and is a phenomenal ratings winner!!
![]() Die Hard 4 did really well too, as did Doc Martin, and AR held up well. Interesting to see how Collision does tonight, and that Gary Glitter show, which sounds car crash TV.

Could I also say well done for your stellar prediction for X Factor last night? I think you were 100K out [approx].
Just shows how in touch you are with the broadcasting world really, I could never make predictions like that. ![]() I would never have predicted it though before it happened. It was only after the show aired that many of the factors came into place actually. Yet again also over 24m people watching terrestrial television during the 8pm slot which is phenomenal. |

The X Factor did very well last night as did Doc Martin which is impressive considering that it's not shown in Scotland which would have likely pushed to nearer 10m. Die Hard 4 did very well for Channel 4 although I think it should encourage Five to put Spider-Man 3 at 9pm rather than 6.15pm as is currently scheduled, Miss Congeniality did fine considering the competition although I'm interested how The Wizard of Oz and The Aristocats did in the afternoon.
