Perfect start for XF though, credits rolling just as DW credits roll. ITV timed it perfectly, but I do think they should have advertised more that Brian May & Roger Taylor were performing on stage.

Someone posted a few pages back that that would happen.

Waters of Mars was Who back to its best-where it should really be on cold dark winter nights. David Tennant has made the role his own and its going to be a huge task for the new guy to try and fill his shoes.
Well done the Beeb-a bit of Hollywood on tv.

Tonight was the BBC at its best, one of the best things i have seen on tv in a long time.Just a shame that the ratings will be lower than yet another ITV trashy reality show.

I asked the same thing on the episode thread. It's definitely possible.

I see SCD's tour being advertised during an X factor break tonight. Oh what wonderful irony.

They did it last year too.

Have to advertise it somewhere I suppose.

I'm shocked that any Strictly fans would be watching such an awful trashy reality karaoke show

Nah - it was a 62 minute episode, so it was always likely to start about a minute early. Nearly everything on BBC1 seems to...

Yes, I remembered the Doctor Who episode was 62 minutes long after I'd written that.

When will Jedward become bigger than Susan Boyle?

Disaster for ITV. IACGMOOH launch is plagued with technical problems- an entire segment of the initial Bushtucker trial wasn't even shown.

Add to that the flickering picture and crash to ads earlier, and it's been a pretty shambolic programme thus far.

A bit of an over reaction, the screen went blank for about 3 seconds.

I'm A Celeb has been good so far - better than last year's launch. Shame about the reception issues, but I guess ITV'll be happy it didn't happen during The X Factor.

See i've found it very dull so far (I'm a Celeb) and i'm a reality Tv junkie! Just lacks anything special at all, i can't see me being glued to my seat. Keeping my fingers crossed that Doctor Who tops 10m tomorrow.

I agree so far. It's good but we've seen it all before. Katie Price couldn't come quick enough.

The first show is always like this, it takes a few shows to build momentum

I thought it was fairly dull as well.

The spinoff is even worse. Three random presenters trying too hard that don't gel at all. It's basically Live From Studio Five in the jungle.

I thought IAC was okay if a little predicatable, wish they would set it in another hot country rather than Australia, surely it can't be that expensive to relocate it.

I don't think they've ever got the spin-off right. I usually avoid it at all costs.

I'm going to be really intrigued about Doctor Who's ratings tomorrow. The Sunday 7pm slot is a relatively unexploited one across the year for both BBC One and ITV1. I'll be keen to see if family drama worked there - and see how resilient ASFF's audience is, or if they're just XF early birds. I hope its managed to push beyond 10m, but I'm thinking around 9m or so is more likely.

Also interested by the 9pm clash between TG and IAC. Don't think their audiences crossover too much though. Given the likely lead in of well over 16m - most of whom are likely reality TV fans - I can't see how IAC will have come away with anything less than 10-11m. I reckon Top Gear could be looking at about 5.5-6m - towards the lower end of its usual audience.

The second series of IAC Now with TPT and Matt Whatshisface was pure comedy gold though it quickly went downhill after that.
