I thought it was quite good...apart from J+E, but wouldn't be the same without them

(Sorry if there has been a thread about this)

Good job the vocals are pre-recorded! It would've probably sounded horrendous live, given how difficullt that song is to sing.

His little solo bit from 'I gotta feeling' was the worst bit of singing i've heard on the show this year!

another miming disaster

and I hate to criticise Danyl yet further, but his OTT 'singing' looked even worse when he was miming

Awful, the ensemble performances make me cringe. Reminds me of Seaside Special from years ago

I thought it was horrendous, not so much the singing but the bad camera work. That was so difficult to watch and it was all over the place. Is this a new style of filming or something?

I really liked it

Despite the miming I've always really enjoyed the group performances on AI and I've enjoyed them this year on XF. Far better than some raddled old has-beens on the results show churning out their latest release that no-one really wants to hear (I excuse Buble from this generic criticism)

I do sometimes think I'm in a minority of one on this subject though

I liked it & it was ruined by the awful J&E solo (or duet)

I have thought this a lot this weekend. It seems that the cameras are panning all over the place, and not in the right spots. Rachel had a dance break that was mainly missed because of a band shot followed by some distance filming. Not good stuff X Factor.

And as for the miming, do they definitely do so? The impression I have got in the past two weeks is that the backing vocals are so loud you cannot really hear what they are doing? Am I wrong?

They've mimed for the past two weeks: definitely! It's really obvious at some points because some of them seem to forget they're miming and have their mics away from them...yet can still be heard singing quite clearly.

I'm pretty sure they lip-sync - it's hard enough for experienced singers to dance and sing at the same time, let alone these kids. And I think they keep the backing singers forward in the mix to cover up how bad the contestants' singing is!

I really liked it and was shocked how well Jamie sang it considering everyone says he can only do rock/sing loudly.
