ok i have two phones that no longer work. One is a Trium Mars and the other is a Sony J5e. Now the funny thing is, with both phones (the trium i was using about 3 months and the sony about 10 months) the reason i stopped using the phones was because i upgraded to a new one.

Anyway after a bit i decided to charge up the phone and switch it on, however nothing happens. Now I am thinking this is a dead battery, does this sound likely? how much are batteries? is it worth rep[l;acing the batteries and then selling it or better to just sell it with dead batteries, if i do that how do i know that if certainly is a dead battery. Would i actually get anything for these phones on ebay with dead batteries in them?

Thanks, Nick.

People on eBay will buy ANYTHING.

I suggest you just say that they're faulty, possibly because of a dead battery.
You would of course, get more for the phones if they were working.

You can sell them, but you MUST state that they are sold as faulty. If you sell them with any false decsription you could end up in a lot of trouble.

My Dad had an old 5110 (Nokia) that he hadn't used for years and tried to charge it without any sucess. I took a look and left it on charge over night and it worked perfectly fine the next day, just took a while for the batteries to 'wake up' and accept the charge. Have you tried this?

If the above doesn't work then take a peek on Ebay, there are plenty of damaged or not working goods for sale on there, just remember to be truthful in your description.

Also remember not to try and sell them on DS as the mods get upset about that sort of stuff.

yes, be careful on ebay, they get grumpy quickly. A while back I sold a phone as "untested, condition unknown" because I didn't have a charger for it, and it had been given to me, so I had never tried it, I made this VERY clear in the auction, but the person who brought it emailed me 2 weeks later saying they had brought a charger for it and the battery didn't hold a charge, they demanded a refund and then got very "moody" when I declined, they set the eBay c/s on me and started to get very abusive. Of course eBay sided with me because they were so blatently in the wrong. Just warning to be very careful with people on eBay

I can't believe how stupid people are, if you advertised it as untested and condition unknown then they are taking a risk in the first place buying it so it was their problem as they bought it so i don't know why he demanded a refund
