I checked it out on a website stating the 100 Greatest Rock Songs and it named Desperado. That's my argument and I'm sticking to it.

Desperado is probably one of my all time great songs ever and I agree it is rock, it sure aint pop, and would love to see one of this lot cover it this week. And I still have the original LP of it ... and if you are going to go Eagles rock ballad then it would have to be Take it to the Limit for me.

ELO were they rock, well maybe so you can look at some of their great songs as well.

But I am sure we will get all the boring old rubbish we expect to get sadly but we can hope for some fresh or at least new stuff on this show for once.

I think, given The X Factor's fairly liberal interpretation of themes, they could get away with it!

I do actually agree with those that have mentioned "Desperado" being better for Joe.

But I do see it being the kind of song Simon is going to pick for Danyl this week.

Interesting one...I considered that before giving it to Danyl. I think it'd work for Joe, it might be perfect to let him let loose on, but Danyl needs the performance factor more than Joe does this week IMO.

For Joe I have suggested before I Want To Know What Love Is by Foreigner, could also do Here I Go Again by Whitesnake, Broken Wings by Mr Mister or Dancing In The Dark by Bruce Springsteen

ooh, 'dancing in the dark' could be a good one for joe. 'i want to know what love is' might be nice for jamie too.

i think that dancing in the dark by bruce springsteen might not suit joe's style of singing.

I thought he did well, particularly as he was singing one of my most hated songs of all time. He wasn't as good as he had been in the previoius weeks but he is still the only contestant who has given consistent performances.
