Dermot:needs to learn some manners

He's suppose d to be doing a professional job,his 'weird' remark was uncalled for,and he shows himself up ,and for those of youwho think it was funny ,well i don't think two wrongs make a right in the case of of Robbie and Whitney.
i still can't believe the way he disrespected Celine Dion a couple of years back, these artist's even in a poor 'state' still have awsome talent and the ability to sell out venues,Dermot ? who is he..?jumped up little presenter!

Still a million times better than the shouty one.

I usually miss the result show, what's the big deal?

aww, someone's taking things far too seriously

he said what the majority of people were thinking, and it was funny to most people.

i, for one, applaud him.

when speaking to michael buble after his performance dermot joked that it was nice to have an international star on the show who's "not weird".

He basically shut her up after she was wittering on endlessly on a live show. It was actually quite funny.

Dermot's ace.

basically told her to to her face that she talks too much ,when she was giving constructive opinions on the contestants.you should have seen her face 'drop'.she wasn't expecting that from the presenter and it was so rude.

Im not really warming to Dermot this year... not because of his comment about Whitney and Robbie, but because he seems so fake and awkward.

I know presenters are always a bit cheesy, but he doesnt look comfortable with at all, esp when he has to do stupid poses when he enters.

I feel embarrassed for him.

I think he's good, he was very awkward the first year and made me cringe, but i think he's a very good presenter now.

dermot has producers and so on wittering in his ear about timescales and moving things on and winding stuff up, he has to say something to get people to just stop talking. if he got in her face and told her to shut up, fair enough - rude. but he didn't.

This is what he does so much better than Kate Thornton. When being bombarded with orders over the earpiece he can at least make either a witty remark or has the charisma to close shop. Kate on the other hand just looked annoyed.

I only started watching X Factor towards end of last year... but, I think Dermots great.
I youtubed that thing with Celine Dion - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8i7MabPCpg

It's not overly rude I don't think - he had to make her stop talking due to time and all stuff like that.

I don't think there was anything wrong with what he said..... probably just making a reasonable observation. Whitney and Robbie couldn't have been the easiest to briefly interview given that they were both out of it, and wasn't there something with Britney last year when he was under instructions not to look her in the eye? Now that's weird!

I preferred Kate Thornton so I'm not Dermot's No 1 fan but, hey, let's cut him some slack.

Dermot is great, sometimes comes across as a bit smarmy, but you always get the feeling he actually does give a damn about his job and the contestants.

The wierd comment made me laugh out loud, obviously a snipe at Witney, christ she was odd!

...and Robbie; he looked off his face too.

As for the Celine comment, I remember cringing. It was the "she can sing and she can talk" that kind of made me want to crawl into the settee.

Exactly. He can't just stand there and let her talk all evening. This is a live show with time constraints.

And he was spot on about Whitney - appropriate or not, I laughed.
