After watching the series so far Simon seems like he cant be bothered anymore. I think he looks like hes had enough and dosnt really want to be there. I think its hitting him that this year the show is poor. For me ive not got the same buzz out of the shows as i did in previous years and find it hard to get excited about any of the contestant unlike Alex last year and some of the other guys in previous years.

I disagree. I think he is loving it this year. He was definitely bored with Idol this year and seems SO much more animated on XF , especially the live shows have started. The ratings are phenomenal, once again its the talking point of the nation and seems to be working on all its many levels. Simon will only get bored with it once its popularity wanes.

Im actually surprised he resigned for Idol - I would have thought a US X Factor with him on the panel would have suited him more. I didnt think it was possible that he could get away with looking THAT bored and THAT pissed off for nearly 3 months on AI last year - topped off with the fact the only contestant he liked didnt win .

I think he was previously getting bored until Leona Lewis reignited his interest in the show. The high quality of the acts in the previous three series are not there in this series and have gone back to the mediocre quality of the first two series. I'd imagine he'll go back to the old audition format next year and hope to find more quality singers who the viewers can watch grow into confident artists, not the audience savvy Danyl types who are semi-professional and don't connect with the viewers in the same way.

It was to be part of the deal that he signed for Idol if he wanted to take XF over there. The deal hasn't been signed yet.

I think he will look even more bored on Idol this year without Paula on there.

Despite all the chat, I don't think he seemed all that bothered when "mentor's pet" Danyl flunked with the voters this week.

If he wanted another winner who could have been genuinely successful he would have been pulling for Miss Frank or Lucie. The rest are a bunch of Leon Jacksons (except for Rachel, who is talented but too irritating to go over well with viewers).

The acts are def not as good this year. The only one I like more as a person than a performer is Stacey as she genuinely seems thrilled to be part of it.

Danyl is a good singer but can't connect with him.

I think SC is contracted for another 2 series after this one but not certain. He has been quoted as saying that the new style auditions are here to stay.

Simon was looking pretty bored during the audition stages, but once the live shows started he seemed to turn completely and is now over-enthusiastic and I would say annoyingly so....jumping on his feet at the end of every performance by his own acts, singing along with the songs, hi-fiving Jamie and all the other ridiculous behaviour, I don't know what is wrong with him, it definitely doesn't come across as normal. Maybe he *is* getting bored and trying to cover it up by being so OTT, who knows.

If they are here to stay then he will get a similar result as this year and will alienate the viewers further. I think the viewers know they are being manipulated into buying the X Factor winner's single at the end of the series, but if they cannot see any growth throughout the series with the winning artist then it looks even more manipulated than it already is.

He's never going to get bored of the income it generates, let's be honest.

Also it is WAY less boring as a show format, and in terms of the production values, than American Idol and he is still happy to make that.
