I would like to get a nokia 7250i on vodafone through singlepoint.

I am currently with them now, and my current 12 month contract ends in June, and I have a samsung T100 at the minute.

On their site it says you can only send a picture message to a phone on the same network, is this true?

If I am on vodafone, can I not send a picture taken with my new fone to someone on Orange? Is there a way to get round it, other than get my fone transferred onto Orange.

If I stay with Vodafone, how do I send my pictures to someone on email? How does the phone know my email address, and does it work with talk21 accounts?

If I did decide to get transferred onto Orange, I could get the fone cheaper from them, but only for "new connections", does that stop me from bringing my phone number with me from Vodafone, or does it mean I'd have to get a completely new number from Orange to get this offer.

any help would be appreciated!

That's not true - it is possible to picture message to any of the uk networks - it has been possible now for well over 12 months. My boss is on vodafone with a 7250i and he can picture message me and I'm on T-mobile.

You will have to ring Vodafone and get them to send you the settings for GPRS and Picture messaging as they phone usually comes sim-free with vodafone.

You then have to set the phone to Vodafone Live - and it should then work without any problems

I'm sorry Jackal, but you may be wrong! My daughter has just started a contract with vodafone, she has a panasonicx60, and she was having problems receiving mms. Customer services have told her that she may have problems receiving mms from phones on other networks!!! I'm on O2, and very few of her friends are on Vodafone. So her mms capable phone isn't so capable, and infact is pretty useless! Is Vodafone the only network having these 'problems'?

My son is with Orange and has used his 7250i to send photos to other networks plus to email accounts. About 4 weeks ago he couldn't send any photos so he rang Customer Services and was told it was a network problem. However, this went on for a couple of weeks, he then phoned and got through to a technician. The technician was most helpful and had the problem sorted out within 24 hours. It was something to do with my son's phone and the orange network.

Lizteria, it might be worth your while trying to get through to a technician to see if he/she can sort the problem. I know when my son initially got the phone he did have to ring Orange up to get it set up right for him to send photos and use GPRS.

Thanks for your suggestion wicket. I think that you're probably right, as she can send mms to other networks but can't receive them. However, I'll have to wait until she comes home to visit, then try phoning them again. She has to have access to another phone so that her settings on her phone can be checked. Technology eh!!!
