Have you ever been disturbed by music? I was thinking about this, and there has been very little that has put me on edge.

A couple of songs immediately spring to mind -

The Bends by Mr. Bungle, about the bends, funnily enough. The build up at the end representing the return to the surface is distinctly unnerving on headphones.

Breathing by Kate Bush. A depressing song about the after affects of a nuclear attack, sung in the first person.

But I can't think of much else. The first time I saw the Aphex Twin video for Come to Daddy, I was like 'What the .....', but the music by itself doesn't have the same effect.

There's two I can think of off the top of my head, both by Tori Amos... 'Me and a Gun' (about her personal experience of rape... I find it almost impossible to listen to) and her cover of '97 Bonnie and Clyde' (just plain disturbing)...

I agree that the video of 'Come to Daddy' was far more powerful than the song, but have you ever heard The Dillinger Escape Plan version (with Mike Patton on vocals)?... It'll knock yer head off!

I always remember finding "O Superman" by Laurie Anderson kinda odd when it was out (in my long gone youth).

Loads of people raved about it but it just sounded disturbed to me and sent me running back to my Abba collection
