Have any of the professional dancers ever made mistakes in the dances?

They can't get it right all the time especially with a learner for a partner?

Not a mistake exactly, but Ian quite famously tripped on the fan which Zoe hadn't managed to throw clear of the dancefloor. He fell, but managed to get back up to speed with Zoe and continue the dance (which is one of my favourite showdances ever - even with the fall!).

I think Brendan and Camilla have both stumbled/tripped in their dances and made sure the judges knew it was them and not the celeb.

... I know the pros always try to take the blame for these things ... but I think in one of Matthew and Alesha's dances (VW maybe?) it was Matthew that forgot what came next, and just told Alesha to follow his lead ... they got some very good marks for that dance tho, so he must have improvised well!

Not really a mistake but there was the time that Karen got Mark's microphone caught in her hair and had to stop dancing. The judges let them have another go from the beginning I think (I'm sure someone with a better memory than me will correct/ fill in details I've missed).

Matt quite memorably went wrong during his Foxtrot with Alesha in Series 5 (but went unoticed by the judges).

Oh, that was probably the one I was thinking of ... thought it was the VW tho for some obscure reason!

I remember they went wrong in their Paso aswell...

I think that was more of a "joint" effort though

I think it was Alesha that time, but they they were both utterly thrown and ended up completely improvising half of the dance!!

I agree, when you watch it back it's beyond me how 4 judges sat so close didn't notice it on the night, or even question there was something up with it.

I always love the end of that dance. Both end up at differents ends of the floor really, quickly turn round to face each other and just raise their hands randomly in the air (but once again went right over the judges heads...)

I remember when they told us about that on ITT - I think I'd have panicked like crazy and cried if he'd done that to me! I was very impressed that she kept her composure!

... at the time I just thought the end was a little more boring than strictly necessary even in a foxtrot (one of my least favourite dances) ... it did explain a lot when I realised that Matthew had made up most of it on the spot ... and put's Matt Di Angelo's forgetful moments in a little more perspective ... MattC did really well to pull that one past the judges!

They were all simultaneously looking down at their notepads

I have to say I thought Alesha did a really good job of keeping it together.

Anton went wrong with Jan Ravens once dancing the quickstep. It caused her to fall flat on her face!

Last year Vincent stumbled slightly catching Rachel at the end of the quickstep American smooth, but when they had to do it in the dance-off, he caught her perfectly, to which everyone sort of cheered!

Thats still one of my all time favourite dances. Alesha looks stunning, the music is perfect and it has such a dreamy quality to it.

I'd love to see the real version someday

What good excuse for a trip down memory lane looking at all the old clips!

Matt is the only pro I recall admitting he went wrong, but I can't believe that is the only time it has happened (I'm not counting slips or stumbles).

Brendan admitted going wrong too remember with Kelly . Never heard the end of it from him, most interviews it came up and strangly that was the only clip of that tango they seemed to keep (and the slap at the end of course).

Talking of Brendan (or his female alter ego ), surely...surely...he must've gone wrong his show dance with Lisa?

I mean no one could choreograph a move which finished with the lady being carried into a Christmas tree? And then the lifts. It just...it couldn't have been as planned.
