Hi,

Currently I only have 1 sat connected (to one of the inputs, not bridged) to my Foxsat HDR (need more cables for proper setup). Whenever I watch a recording that's still recording, it will stop when the actual recording stops. I then need to start watching again from the media list to see the rest. Is that normal? Seems daft. Will that go away once I'm fully set up?

Thanks,
Peter

The problem is your watching in Time shift mode where basically your rewinding the recording back to the begining again to watch. What you need to do is set the recording and then go to the media menu and play the file from there. (You'll need to let the recording progress for about thirty seconds before the file becomes visible).

This was an issue with the Humax 9200T in the beginning, but was fixed by a software update. It seems the sat version is riddled with a lot of the same bugs. Shame Humax doesn't seem to have applied any learnings to this newer model

Last night I was watching a programme that I paused for a while - maybe 10 minutes or so. When the next programme started, I was binned from my programme and transferred to live TV.

I lost the last 10 minutes of Eastenders which was not recording because of the start of Watchdog recording.

I thought this only happened whilst the current programme was recording and the Foxsat "caught up?"

If your watching in time shift mode and the following programme is set to record then yes you will get dumped. If you are watching in time slip mode and a recording on a different channel starts you won't get dumped.

It's a known problem, if you record the programme and watch the recording in chasing playback (it appears in the media list 30 sec after recording starts then you won't have this problem

Thanks for that. I was covered with Eastenders being on my 9200 but last night was the first time I saw this dumping happen.

Are you saying you have not fitted the short loop cable. If so you will run into trouble if you set two recordings at the same time as the hdr will assume the link is present. This will also guarantee that you lose the time shift buffer when a second recording is set as you only have one operating tuner
