Ignored pupil (by the judges)

This is a response to the teachers pet thread.

Which dancer (if any) do you think had been underrated or not given the praise that is due?

It varies from week to week.

I don't think Laila was given enough credit for her Samba last week. It didn't set the dancefloor alight but it was a notable improvement on her previous Latin and I expected Len, at least, to give her some positive feedback and words of encouragement.

There have been a couple of instances but, the stand out for me was Chris and Ola's Salsa. Ok it might not have been as technical as some of the others but, for fun and entertainment it was right up there and the music was fab. If as Len said Alesha and Bruno are marking on those categories then they really should have been marked higher. I LOVED everything about it and it's still my favourite dance by him.

I agree with Sid and Laura.

For me it varies from week to week, but the week Chris did his Salsa, 25 was too low - he was more than one point better than Lynda & Darren, Craig & Flavia and Phil & Katya. And he wasn't three points worse than the next couple Ricky & Erin.

Chris definitely.

Another vote for the "it varies" category.

I think Ricky Groves has been undermarked a couple of times - I think he deserved a 30 for his VW, and apart from week 1, I think Chris has been consistently undermarked as has Phil.

I think Ali's salsa was unfairly critisced by the judges. I thought it was brilliant and she gave it a darn good go but they really criticised her performance.

Jade and Ian - although they are consistently getting pretty decent marks, I don't think they are being recognised by the judges as final contenders - which means that the voting public kinda forget to vote for them. I thought the choreography for their samba was blumin' brilliant!
