I'm trying to work out which 'likeable' previous contestant Chris reminds me of the most and I'm struggling a bit. He's not as good a dancer as Matt Dawson or Gethin Jones (nor as sexy as the latter, which probably doesn't help), he's got more competition than Aled Jones had, and I think he's a better dancer than Julian Clary or James Martin.

The best answer I can come up with is Christine Bleakley, in that she was clearly popular and made it a long way into the competition, but simply wasn't up to the standards of the real contenders - meaning she was voted out just before things got really crucial.

I've adored Chris since week 1, and I was pleased that he showed signs of improvement in Blackpool, but as far as I'm concerned he'd have to improve massively every week from now on to merit a place in the final ahead of Ricky W, Ali or Jade.

I also think Ola's choreography is not flashy enough for Chris to earn any kind of 'ooh' factor from the public that might eclipse the superior talent of others. One of the more widely acknowledged choreography queens among the pros might have brought Chris out of his shell earlier.

Of course, given the trouble he's had executing the routines, it might also have backfired...but I suspect we're never going to find out exactly what he's really capable of.

So it might end up being Ola-chops who actually lets Chris down in the end. Which would be a sad end to Team Cola

It's not unusual for the best dancers not winning. Donnie Osmand just won Dancing With The Stars. Mya was obviously the better dancer. Chris wouldn't last 3 weeks against that competition. Ali and Ricky would go much further. She is far and away the best Standard dancer on SCD and Ricky is the best latin dancer. event with the mistakes and pigion toes.

How could anyone know the publics vote when even the pros don't have that information. If he does have the vote then people should wake up and vote for the best dancer, not the cutest. Chris & PorkChops.

He may be topping the public vote but if he is in the dance off next week against Ali or Ricky he is a goner.

Judging by the cheers they got last night they're certainly popular....problem they've got this week is they have to do the samba and if their marks aren't great they're going to need that public vote more than ever.

I think that's the only threat to Chris not winning this year.

I can't see it happening next week though. I think it'll be Laila vs either Ali or Ricky. In fact I don't see Chris ever being in a position to be in the DO to be honest.

the public know he'd get voted out in the DO so they'll keep him out of it...

He'd have to be at the bottom of the leaderboard anddo a crowd-displeasing dance and have one of the other dancers have a real sob-story week to find himself in the DO I think.

If it's a three-couple final he'll probably get there, and if there probably win. But if the Beeb don't take steps soon to stop a two-couple final (am I the only one who is sure she remembers them promising to do so before the series started?) I can see the judges manoeuvring him out at the semis to ensure he doesn't win.
