I think the wrong pair went.. but...AliBri ... well he HAS to strike a balance between over flashy choreo and blandness to bring out the best in her... even if she DOES look like a stunned mullet half the time! Exactly how I feel about Ali and Brian! and yes I think the wrong pair went home.

Why Craig didn't go the week he did the foxtrot is beyond me. He looked wooden and appeared to have all but given up, and Flavia's dress seemed to be wrapping itself between and around his legs.

I'll stick my head above the parapet - I'm quite pleased Zoe went. She seems like a nice woman but she was a merely competent dancer ludicrously overmarked from day one. James is a great Latin dancer himself but his choreography is tedious, repetitive, often with ill-judged music. Last week's AS was poorly timed and error strewn yet they finished with high marks. This week a lacklustre 'disco' samba choreography (which when Anton does it is beige but when James does it passes without remark) was pleasantly mediocre but gets a 9 from Alesha. They were not God's gift to dancing and not popular with the public - why all this pretence it was a shock result?

I have never warmed to RickyW and he could be in the bottom 2 and I wouldn't care, but that quickstep was amazing...I hate to say.

and yes I think the wrong pair went home.So do I. I thought Zoe was the better dancer tonight definitely. The public are voting for Craig as he's a 'John Sergeant' and ppl like to see a bad dancer stay in mainly for the 'shock' factor. It'll happen year on year on Strictly. Always has and always will no matter how right or wrong it is. |

I have to admit last week I described Craig as the kind of boyf you have and want to get shot of, and he doesn't get the message now matter how nicely you start to dress it up, and make it blunter and blunter... until you want to clobber him over the head with a shovel.
He DID improve, granted... and IMO as good as both girls were... I think the bigging up of the injury was a bit naughty... and I think James and Zoe gave it MUCH more bounce the 2nd time around. I think the wrong pair went.. but...AliBri ... well he HAS to strike a balance between over flashy choreo and blandness to bring out the best in her... even if she DOES look like a stunned mullet half the time! Post of the year ![]() ![]() Thank you, you made my night with that. |

Not really a fan of theirs, but I thought Zoe & James did better in the dance off than Ali & Brian who really stuggled. I expected either Zoe or Chris to go, so not surprised it was Zoe, but was shocked to see Ali in the B2.

Love so many couples this season (maybe because there is no stand-out pairing). However, I know that when Zoe/James were confirmed as leaving, I KNEW that I was disappointed and didn't want them to go - but WHO?
Craig - give a tryer a shot at his honest-to-god goal : Blackpool Ricky - not a good week but want him to stay Chirs - ok, my guilty favourite Phil - couldn't stand Derek Gough as a "bloke" but Phil manages it with style Natalie - enthusiasm in spades Lailia - needs one of our latin dancers (Matthew) to see her through to the final Ali - excellent but I thought she was over-scored tonight Jade - personally want her to to well but not surprised that she'll have to fight for her place (which she did tonight with a fantastic foxtrot) Ricky - First WOW dance of the series and certainly deserves to override any worries about his connection with the audience. Come on Gritty stop sitting on the fence who would you have chosen for the dance-off: ok I'm really glad I'm not a judge this week but it would have to be - Craig and Natalie; with Craig leaving. |

I agree with this 100% I don't like Craig but people have a right to vote for who they want And I'm not Ricky's biggest fan but it was a great QS NOT worth 39 though

Again the camerawork was bad. A lot of half or 3/4 body shots, so you couldn't see their feet.
Great Pro dancing. Matthew and Aliona in particular, but loved the Moulin Rouge section too. Shut up Len, until the Judges stop contributing to the top dancers being in the bottom two. They tied 3 couples this week, therefore making it 3 levels easier for a top pair to be in the dance off. Great QS from Ricky W and a great FT from Jade. I thought Laila's and ALI's were OK and Zoe danced the routine well, but I think a lot of people would not have guessed it was a Samba. James has done a brilliant Job with Zoe and I think they both performed at almost the best they could through the whole series. They should have been in until the semifinal, based on what we have seen so far. Ali was unlucky to have a damaged foot, but fortunate to have gotten through on last nights performance. |

I don;t think people vote for fave pros. They vote for fave celebs - be they good or average or poor dancers.
Also, I'm sorry but Zoe may have technically danced OK tonight but the routine was boring and Ali's was either not very interestng or ruined by injury. Whatever, it was very forgettable. Thats why they ended up in bottom two. For me the pros ARE the celebs! |

I just want to mention how lovely Tess looked. I was a bit cutting last week about her liquorice allsorts dress so I feel I have to post to say that last nights dress was beautiful.
Maybe she wore the dress last week for a bet. |

I think this is the first time sympathy votes have kept somebody in over a genuine contender as I would have seen one or both of these two couples in the final.

I a glad that you are all happy now
(joke for those that dont know me)My mum is officially upset....at 86 she has finally decided to watch strictly properly after years of telling me it was rubbish and now my dear Dad is no longer here she isnt worried about inflicting the dancing on him on a Saturday night. Anyway she rang me up yesterday to say how cross she was that 'Billy and Brian' (yes she really called them that ) had gone home bless her not only does she think she is watching Transvestites come dancing she thinks the one that the judges name in the dance off is the one going home. She has no answer when I ask her why she thinks the other couple is doing a goodbye dance |

From what I can see, the public vote for the dancers who have a good rapport with Tess after their dances. I don't think a huge percentage of voters watch ITT so the only chance they get to 'meet' the celebs is that chat with Tess. It's been Tess who's made the big deal about Blackpool with Craig. I know we know Claudia does it too but as I say I don't think most voters watch ITT. Tess should be told to treat all the celebs equally, I do think she gives more time to some that others.
Hope that makes sence, my 3 year old was trying to help me type that!! |
