Progressive scan
I’ve just bought a Philips 23” LCD TV (23PF9945) and a Sony DVD player (DVP-NS730).
The DVD player is capable of progressive scan and the manual states that to use this feature you need to connect a compatible TV using the Y, Pb/Cb, Pr/Cr outputs. It clearly states progressive scan doesn’t work with the SCART output. The TV technical specification states it has progressive scan, but there are no Y, Pb/Cb, Pr/Cr inputs – Just 2 SCART sockets & S-Video inputs. Can they be connected together so that I can utilise the progressive scan functionally? Thanks, Dusty |

That TV has a VGA socket doesn't it (probably labeled PC input)?
It'll do progressive scan through that (it should do since it doesn't have component inputs). You'll need a component to VGA adaptor (cost quite a lot)... |
