Hi all,

I have an LG LCD TV that seems to have developed a black cloud, mainly to the top left of the screen.

Is this a common problem? The TV is out of warranty, am I looking at getting a new TV? Had the TV for just over 3 years.

Thanks

You wouldn't describe impact damage as a 'black cloud'

Impact damage is blindingly obviously, and quite pretty (unless it's your TV).

No impact, just one morning this black cloud appeared. Maybe it is dust etc but must be a design fault as it has not been in a dusty area.

depends, sometimes a pressure damage can become a black cloud. his description was vague so its hard to say whether he meant splotch or some kind of tint. its not always a full on traveling crack which would yes..be blindingly obvious.

I dont think 'black cloud' is vague - thats what it is!

Any ideas if this can be fixed at all?

You need to be specific about model.

Just do a search with that model and "black cloud" on google.

I imagine it can be fixed, it's merely a question of the price. Replacing the LCD panel (which it sounds most likely to require) is probably more then a new TV.
