Elvis is the best there ever was and the best there ever will be...

Do you agree?...If you ask me he had everything...he could play instruments (unlike todays singers)...he had the best singing voice a recording artist has ever had...he had a very interesting personal life...he was in lots and lots of movies...he lasted longer than ten years...and his legacy still lives on even though hes been dead for years...

EDIT: ELVIS PRESLEY...NOT ELVIS COSTELLO...

I was watching the Oscars and low and behold Elvis Costello was there up for one. He is a successful LA movie music guy now. How times change.

No I do not agree.
He was probably the first music artist ? who was ripe for marketing, and the Colonel did a fantastic job. Fortunately I was not sucked in by this. I will gant that he released 2 or 3 decent singles. Just think on that he is not getting anything from the full price releases is he. Where does your money go to?
At the end of the day if you are happy with his music, then so be it.

too talented for his own good.if he had had a less impresive voice like (for instance) carl perkins,he would have stayed closer to his R&B/country roots.the likes of perkins or jerry lee lewis have much better back catalogues than elvis.here are just a few examples of the elvis litany of crimes:
1-Teddy Bear(hardly rock&roll)
2-No Room To Rumba In A Sports Car(nothing to add)
3-the whole GI Blues album(listen and see)
4-Wooden Heart(must have had a wooden head for recording this)
no,check out his early stuff(Rock"n'Roll#1&2,the great sun and early RCA stuff0and his great 70's stuff.ignore all film soundtracks.
