Don't get me wrong, they are both awesome and Erin is and always will be my idol, but I'm shocked that they smoke, not so much Ricky but Erin ! I know they aren't the only ones in the show who smoke, it just came as a surprise to me that Erin smokes !

A few of the pro dancers smoke. I'm not surprised, as people often smoke to keep their weight down.

Public figures should be banned from smoking. It gives out the wrong image.

Part of me wants to disagree with you, but there is some logic to it.

Seriously? How would you go about enforcing that?

It gives out the wrong image.
If there's an argument at all, then responsibility lies with the media who elected to publish the picture, rather than with the "public figure," particularly when such figures are caught in a candid shot.

That said, I'll stick with the idea that everyone should be allowed to enjoy any legal activity they want to, regardless of status.

I s'pose you'd have to do the same with drinking too and it would be virtually impossible to enforce.

The Tax and duty on a bottle of Vodka is approx £8 the country would be bust if we stopped drinking.

I didnt know Erin smoked. Am shocked. smoking is so bad for the health and particularly a dancer or a sports person of any sort.
I know a lot of people who have smoked and they now suffer from Emphysemia, not a pretty sight.

The amount of dancing she does should be enough to keep her weight off if she ever was in danger of putting it on.

Smoking is a filthy habit.

I don't think we should ban it. I was just saying that if we ban smoking, surely drinking should be banned too.

I'm with you, this is a ridiculous thread. Those without any sin, 'Cast the first stone.' Oh and is smoking illegal? Geez, get a life!

If it wasn't for The Sun would we have known? Probably not.

Blame The Sun not the smoker.

I don't like smoking but I like banning things even less. What else shouldn't public figures do? Have a glass of wine? A bacon sandwich? No-one has to be perfect, and trying to portray public figures as perfect is dangerous. No-one can achieve perfection. Let's all be human and be happy with that.

Oh My God, stop being so pathetic, Erin is a grown woman, she can do what she wants. She's no exactly wearing a poster each week that says "I love smoking, you should all smoke like me." Is she?

LOADS of the pro dancers smoke and guess what? They're still alive. Move on!

What a shocker! a dancer smokes, of course if you smoke you would not be able to do any vigerous exercising, like dancing! I doubt that Ricky or Erin are on 60 a day, if they were they would not have the energy to dance. No big deal really, everything in moderation.

Woah, all I said was that I was surprised, I'm not exactly denying any of the pro dancers the right to smoke or do what they like....I'm sure their lifestyles are healthy enough for them to get away with it anyway. I think Erin is awesome and I'm sorry if I sounded pathetic to you .

Talk about the 'nanny state,' I mean that would mean all local councillers,MP's, etc etc, etc etc etc and my postie, he's quite a public figure in my small area. As long as they don't strut their stuff on stage with a fag hanging out their mouth I for one couldn't care less. If they were off their heads on drugs whilst attempting the rumba however I would then consider it a problem.

Well in that case they shouldn't drink as well, makes as much sense.
