How the mighty fall

Barry Gibb really used to have charisma and flair but now is the time for him to get a haircut.

We have taken to doing something else whilst waiting for the final decision, because the quality of the majority of the singing acts they are getting on is awful.

A Bee Gee doesn't get a haircut. He just waits patiently to be bald. Then he gets a really bad wig.

[quote=justpootling;36406092]I've always assumed the musical guest performances are pre-recorded and then edited in to the live show.

Justpootling - I was there and they were filmed sometime after 6pm on Sat night (evidently the sound had been recorded earlier that afternoon) before the main show went out live. With some exceptions (eg Spandau), this is normally how it works. All the equipment etc is then cleared away ready for the show to start and as you rightly assumed, the performances are then edited in to the live show later on and the audience watches it on the monitors.

I liked Jamie Cullum ..
So did I

I was gutted I missed last weeks show, and Harry Connick Jr. too. I really like him.

The Bee Gees on saturday night, it's safe to say, were not at their best. But they weren't as bad as Andy Williams.

Has anyone considered why the X-Factor gets bigger names (even if they do sometimes poop their act like Robbie & Whitney)?
Well so far X-Factor hasn't delivered a bigger name than the Bee Gees (if record sales are the main determinant of status). I find it unlikely that either channel could get another artist of that calibre and status to appear but you never know they could pull one out of the bag (the surviving members of Queen or an ABBA reformation).

And lose a pound or two round the chops.

I actually like the idea that for once a 63-year-old pop star is willing to just be himself and not try and look like a twenty-something. Good on you Barry Gibb!

Now Robin Gibb on the other hand...
