Exactly right!

Light entertaiment is all it is and we were lightly entertained tonight, especially by the histrionics from the judges

Disgrace? Best week so far - couldn't predict who'd be in the dance-off. The other weeks have been boringly predictable end of shows.

Ha! Not by me.

As a form of indirect retaliation I intend to vote for Jedward to win X factor.....

Alesha was hilarious, we loved it here.

The major problem was that Zoe hit a week with a poorer dance and some of the others round had dances more to their favour.

The top 3 or 4 are more bland than the lower 3 or 4 who seem IMO to have a bigger personality and so engage the public more. Not in the vote for me vote for me way but they seem to give more to the voting public.

Finally as others have said before and My OH said if you want to save someone vote for them. A shock result has been on for the past 3 weeks and tonight it happened. I fully expect Craig to go out next week once the Blackpool dream has been achieved

I don't even watch x factor and I have half a mind to start voting for them just to see the mess and tangles people get themsleves into over something so unimportant.

neither Zoe or Ali set the world on fire with their personalities unfortunately

I also found James's choreography a bit dull and simple - the ballroom she performed well but she was really overscored for the jive and the samba

you can't really say that Ali is a judge's favourite as they slagged her off for the first four weeks, but then she was in the dreaded 3rd place

I predicted that two good couples would be in the dance off this week but it was the right result out of the two

This is the significant new angle this year: to vote within 15 minutes even as the pro dance is proceeding. Only the most determined will vote this year.

Well said. Will be back at work as usual on Monday so Zoe going out of Strictly and Craig staying won't matter to me one iota. We'll be back on here next week moaning about who goes out then

I voted for Zoe and James (quite a few times actually), so naturally I am very sad she left the show. I have really enjoyed watching her dance but clearly I was in a minority. I know her latin has not been as good as her ballroom, but I thought she was improving.

The public are encouraged to vote for their favourite and clearly tonight Craig was a lot more popular than Zoe or Ali. That’s the way of the show. Tonight I thought Ricky’s was the best performance of the night, but I didn’t vote for him. So how can I criticise people for voting for other performers, like Craig, who were less good. The public have a right to vote, you have to accept that.

I thought both Zoe and James acted with a lot of dignity at the end…which was nice to see.

I know, the sun will still rise tomorrow, providing conclusive proof that the world has not stopped spinning and there is no apocalypse on the horizon!

Bring on next week and some more drama!!!

Tonight we witnessed the death of SCD. In my view it has now stopped being a credible talent show, and has been replaced as a show where the winner will be chosen by who can come up with the best sympathy-vote story.

What sort of people fall for all this "I want to dance in my hometown" & "it's my birthday" nonsense? Anyone with half a brain cell can see through it, but unfortunately it appears that the majority of the voters aren't bright enough to realise it's all a big con.

I hope Craig feels really bad that he's scraped through to Blackpool at the expense of someone 100x more deserving and 1000x more talented. Unfortunately, he is so self obsessed that I fear nothing will be further from his mind. I struggle to comprehend how he can continuously say he can can dance when he so obviously can't. He's like one of the deluded mentals from the audition part of X-Factor.

I voted for Craig. My daughter was 7 today and sharing a b'day with Craig made her very excited and asked that we vote for him.

I also voted for Tuffers, as I have every week, as I'm a big cricket fan and have always liked "The Cat". I actually voted before seeing Tuffers dance. We watched a recording and voted before Tuffers danced on the recording, but c'est la vie.

Anyone who thinks my votes are "a disgrace" can **** off. It's my 15 pence on a phone call and I can vote for who I like for whatever reasons. The judges ham it up to create publicity for the BBC. The pros and celebs get paid handsomely for their troubles and unless they are cretinously stupid, know that they are at the whim of the voting public.

The "judges only" version of Come Dancing died a death on the midnight slot on BBC2 years ago, so it's only the viewers' vote that gives the progamme any appeal.

The only disgrace I thought of the evening was with the Dance Off ...Zoe and James danced better but were still send on their merry way...

The public vote....So what ....Its the same as last year (and every year) It looks like the folks dont like Ali and Brian...I myself (IMHO) can see shes very like Lisa last year the judges are over marking her....and i think though i wont bet my house on it...Ricky W will suffer the same fate as Rachel stevens last year ..ie better dancer with Zero personailty ...(again i say imo only..)

Its a pity Zoe is gone as i did like her..and found myself warming to James this year..

dare i say its not only a dance contest..!(runs to put on tin hat..) !

Hardly. You just pick the phone up when Tess says the phone lines are open. It's not like you have to climb Everest without oxygen before you can vote.

I think some people just enjoy being morally outraged about something and anything will do.

Poor Guy - has he really been so awful to you that you wish him these evils? Do you know him - how can you make these judgements?

I just cannot believe this thread and can't help wondering what drives the majority - I guess that many of you are amateur dancers who claim to know all the technicalities and think that is the be all and end all.

Well we're not - we watch SCD as an Entertainment show and more often than not we have agreed with the winner or at least the last three. This year however, Ricky W apart, the technically good dancers are NOT entertaining and the others who are being so cruelly and personally murdered by many of you , are, in fact, VERY entertaining.
They are not in the John S, Fiona P league , they are much better than that and are trying sooo hard - how can you be so hard and unfeeling?

I am getting tired of the "Holier than thou" attitudes of blaming us - the GBP and am being persuaded to vote more and more for those who entertain just because I can and many of you are so rude and patronising.

Calm down Granny. I haven't personally murdered anyone! I might have done a bit of character assasination, but only of someone who doesn't have one, so it can't possibly be fatal.

I did see this as a possible scenario for tonight's show. Zoe has already been shown to lack support and Ali's dancing was marred by injury. The judges are partly to blame for Craig's rise in popularity after he stated that his aim was to get to Blackpool. Flavia did an amazing job tonight with the dancer with least potential amongst those left but the judges were still uncomplimentary.

Trends that have always been there - the sympathy vote and the early exit of a good female dancer (remember Clare in series 1?) - have been made worse by the new scoring system (only 3 points between Zoe and Craig) and the short time we have to vote. I don't think we can have any very clear ideas as to who are the most popular dancers and it's all a bit of a lottery.

I did - for Zoe and James - who I thought were entertaining and had some personality unlike Craig "get me to Blackpool - It's my birthday" Who apart from his conceit has about as much personality as a wet lettuce.
