Ricky W without a doubt. He made mistakes again, just like last week, but still manages to get 8s and 9s.

Sorry the one to win tonight was Craig's vote for Laila, the others tried to give an honest opinion of what they saw Craig just had to go the minimum he thought he could get away with. It was at least worth a 6/7

I thought there were a few too many obvious mistakes in Ricky W's dance, including one part where he seemed to stop completely for a couple of seconds, to quite justify his marks.
To my eyes Natalie was just walking around the floor and I was quite surprised at how highly she was rated. For me Ali was just waving her arms around rather aimlessly without any real conviction or definition and yet got high praise for her arm movement. I thought Len was quite right in calling it airy fairy. However I was perhaps most surprised by the three Craig gave Laila. That to me looked like a dance that had the promise of 9s and should still have got 6s. |

Whilst I'm glad we were saved any 10's tonight, I thought 35 for the highesy scores were incredibly generous.
Didn't think either Ricky or Ali's dances were worth 9's. IN fact, I didn't think ANY were worth's 9's tonight. On the judges highest individual scores alone, I'd have probably only just touched the 8's, for possibly Ricky W or Natalie (who I thought was OK). Apart from that...... 9's were ridiculous. |

Most crazy single mark of the night ?..Alesha's 9 for Chris and Ola. Yes, it was entertaining, and yes I agree, Chris seems a nice bloke. But come on..a 9 ?

Both Ricky and Ali
I have thought in 2 previous series that the favouritism was blatant , tonight it surpassed all other shows . |

He and Ali Bastian are the obvious chosen ones this year - to be fair tho most of Ali's dances are good whereas Ricky W manages the errors and gets NINES

Natalie Cassidy and that rather flat foxtrot. Noway was it on par with Chris' dance last week.
A bit harsh for Craig to give Laila a 3 for the first half of her Rumba. I thought she did ok (maybe 6-7) until her ankle started playing up. |

I thought about the 3 for Laila as well I must admit....it is so difficult though, in that situation. I suspect the others marked on the basis that the dance would have gone on in the same standard as it started, although no doubt that was a reduced standard because of the injury anyway (a bit like Ali's paso the other week).
I've not had a look at exactly when Laila had her injury, but in the US version of the show, if someone is injured between the dress rehearsal and the main show, the judges (in recent series anyway) mark is based on footage of the rehearsal. That can be a drawback however if you didn't dance it full out, of course. |

Most ludicrous marks? Ricky W (lumpish, I thought, and too much standing about –*if Ricky G had done that he'd have been criticised for 'playing the joker' and not dancing enough)
and Ali –*too clean, too nice, too self-conscious, wafty arms and a massive stumble towards the end. They are so obviously the judges' pets. It's sickening. |

I loved Ricky W's fast forward jive, but found Natalie, Phil and Ali overmarked

all of the judges marking last night was a sham to ensure their chosen 2 - Ricky W and Ali topped the leaderboard and both got maximum pts.
Ali's cha cha cha was not up to much - she really can't do the Latins very well. It was a 32 max imo. Ricky W's jive was very rough round the edges and involved a lot of pointless posturing. Again, a 32 at best. Ricky G danced his routine superbly and it deserved a 32. Phil should have got 32. Craig's paso was poor and shouldn't have got more than four 7s. The 9 from Alesha was scandalous. It's obvious to me all the judges were in cahoots over pts scores. They didn't want any ties below the tie for 1st place between the chosen 2, cos ties below would have jeopardised them. Nat's foxtrot was average, at best. Had nothing special about it at all and probably deserved a 30, max. They are making mugs of the public with the scoring - last night Strictly descended to X Factor levels of collusion. |

Ali, Ricky G and W and Phil = 7 points each Natalie = 6 points Chris = 5 Laila = 4 We know that Chris has massive public support, so he's saved. We know that Laila got a sympathy vote, so she's saved. It's safe to assume that Natalie has good public support as she's never been in a dance off before, so she's saved. That leaves it between the 4 people placed joint highest by the judges under your marking. If either Ricky G or Phil had come up against either Ali or Ricky W in the dance off then they would've been out, barring any major disasters. Had there been a truly shock result and it been an Ali versus Ricky W dance off, then it would have been a great shame, as the programme would've lost one of it's most talented celebs. Ricky G and Phil to some degree plough the same furrow of charming London chappie, so I think might be splitting their voting base (as are Ali and Ricky W, with the public who vote on dance talent). Unfortunately for them, Natalie is also in that same area and seems to be doing better in the popularity contest aspect (not for me, I might add. I wanted her to go last night). On that basis, it's likely that we would have had precisely the same outcome that we did. I don't know if that makes you feel any better about it?! |

No, Ricky deserved the mark he got. If Natalie can get such a high mark for a dance that basic then he can get a good mark too.
The judges are always inconsistent. |
