Dull personality which means I find him dull to watch on the dance floor.....

I thought their salsa was dull and their paso, but then most of the Latin has been dull this series .

It was a great quickstep, but I still don't like the partnership, no magic there at all .

And why does he get high marks for being bandy and pigeon toed when that same criticism has been used to mark others right down in the past ?

What I found amazing is the reaction of the pros. Both James and Vincent and (from what I could see Ian as well ) were cheering him AND his 10s to the rafters. James in particular was whistling and cheering like a fan! That's when I know that the judges got it right with their 10s. I was absolutely blown away but, to see them react the same way was incredible.

He was good, credit where its due but i dont like the way he holds Natalie something felt off

This dance was his, coz it was quick - it suited him, i find him quite quick in the other ballroom dances which he needs to do it elegantly and smoothly

I thought it was great. Agreed with Len that it was the dance of series. Deserving of the marks imo.

I agree. His dancing reminds me of a trolley dash in a supermarket.

He was wonderful tonight and it took me by surprise exactly because I have found all his previous dances dull. Tonight was the first time I felt he danced full on, he was obviously well rehearsed and for 90 seconds I forgot all about his blog

(I know you responded to Jan, but I wanted to affirm that some of us have indeed found his dances lacklustre).

That was lovely, I was genuinally thrilled for Ricky.

Well done Ricky and Nat - easily the best dance of the night. I'm glad this thread isn't slating him for being good. I know we Britons support the underdog but we shouldn't hate someone for being good.

Well done to him all the same! ”

Just how I feel. Personally would have given him a 9 but won't moan about his 10s it was a brilliant dance. Personally it did really 'wow' me as such as I don't like the partnership but the dance itself was brilliant.

Its the only dance he's done I've actually liked.

If Aleysha thought that very slow and boring Samba that Zoe & James deserved a 9 then Ricky merited an 11. The guy has everything and is charming and good looking too. Wether anyone likes Natalie is irrelevant the guy is brilliant and deserves the accolades instead of the sour grapes. Go Ricky!

He danced really well! Natalie and sometimes Ricky's hold with Natalie really bothered me though. There were times when she had them leaning so far backwards that I didn't know whether they were dancing back, forwards, or sideways. It was disorientating and distracting, but as that was her fault and not his, I don't begrudge him the marks.

I agree, the choreography was outstanding and the performance was brilliant and it thoroughly deserved the score it got.

I know people will say he is bow legged, etc but remember this is a dance competition for celebs, not professionals, and he can't help having bandy legs, bless him.

Thats what I felt - Brendon as well was clapping away I think all the Pros appreciated Ricky's talent. It was truly and amazing dance I was smiling the whole way through.

Well done Ricky and Natalie - well deserved marks

I thought it was great but the pigeon toes and bandy legs mean he will never look as good as the likes of Colin Jackson. A pity, but they're very off putting.

On the bright side, they shouldn't be as much of a hindrance in tonight's tango.

Ricky started off very good on week one and that is the first dance that was a clear step up in performance and technique, that I could see.

I could see that he was getting better in bits of his other dances, but that one was a complete package.

The dance was good but too sloppy in the body for me and too much like the dances on Dancing With The Stars.

I agree with the the 10's based on the performances of other celebrities.
I wouldn't have quite rated it a 10 myself, but other contestants have been over-rated, so it was justified.
I'm no expert, apart from the knowledge I've gained from watching all the series of SCD, but in my opinion it looked a bit TOO athletic at times (if that makes sense ?)..it lacked the elegance normally required for the Quickstep. But that is "nit picking"..still a great routine.

He can't exactly do anything about the bandy legs though can he especially as it's probably a result of his broken leg

People used to complain that Alesha had "pigeon" toes and she still won the show! I honestly dont think its a big deal if his "toes" arent perfect. its all about selling a dance IMO which is why Alesha won.
James even said Rickys quickstep was the best dance of all 6 series!
