She asked holly on xtra factor " is this still a sining competition" and "is this still about music"
And said it shouldnt be about what they wear etc it should be about the music the voice.
And then that great vocalist called sinita pipes up with " yes but rachel changed when she changed the look"

No she didnt, she changed when she survived being in the bottom two and her confidence grew.

What the hell does sinita know apart from modelling leaves on her body?

While I understand the sentiment. This show is simply about who gets the most votes. The music or the singing doesn't matter at all really.

Maybe they should do it on the radio.

To tell the truth i am getting a bit miffed with people, mainly Simon Cowell, calling this a singing contest as it plainly is not, hence the title the X-Factor. This would suggest more than just a good singing voice such as charisma/stage presence etc. Take a look at nearly any act that has ever stood the test of time, a vast majority of them dont have particuarlarly strong voices but do have bags of charisma/Stage Presence.

Of course its about the singing, because when you download the record or listen to it on the radio, your not able to see the big production surrpunding them or the clothes etc or their dancing.
Your hearing their voice so that makes this about the music and singing, you only have to look at the last two winners to know that.
Leona and alexandra, they are all about the voice

I missed xtra factor, was Joss still speaking in an american accent?

Joss Stone is a tw*t. (And a singer so painfully derivative that she makes most XF contestants look cutting-edge.)

I wonder if Bob Dylan would have ever won X factor.

She still has more talent in her little finger than you could ever dream of having in your whole body. Joss has sold 13.5 million albums worldwide. Remind us again how many you've sold?

Anyway, Joss is completly right. It is all about the singing. The proof is in the pudding. Look at Leona & Alexandra, that tells you all you need to know.

I kept expecting Jason Manford to say someting like "It shouldn't be all about your accent".

Sinitta knows about life. 'Cos she's lived her life. Hell she's experienced more in her short 18 years on this planet than any of you have put together. Sinitta deserves respect because she earned respect. Sinitta is God.

She's a pretty girl but she came across as being extremely up herself on the Xtra Factor.

She spoke the most sense tonight.
Joss is the epitome of how a good talented girl is overlooked for trivial reasons such as having a bit of an american accent. The GBP can be so petty sometimes. What she said about Rachel was right, yes it's important, but WAY too much emphasis is put onto it. I said to my mum that people aren't ready for a woman with real individuality on the show, and my mum said women won't want to vote for her the way she looked before, when if you check out Rihanna's new style it's almost identical, and Rihanna is at the top of the charts (not as I type obviously). I hate the artificiality of the public, especially when it comes to Joss Stone. She speaks honestly and is respectful, but something so trivial as what she sounded like while speaking taints her character for the rest of her life. Smh.

You seem to be agreeing with me. If as you say it is only a singing contest, then having the show just on the Radio would make sense. However as it is shown on TV this would suggest that the Performance is as much an integral part of what contributes to having the "X-Factor" as the actual vocals.

Oh yeah, so sour, she has sold millions and millions of records, and has the respect of some of the most important and influential people in the music industry. Poor Joss, I bet she wishes she has as much credibility, success and talent as Sinitta!

It is not JUST a singing contest.

Singing comes into it, of course, but to see X-Factor as being just about singing is to take somewhat deluded view about it.

She came across as a right pain in the arse. No wonder she has a bad reputation.
