Well I couldn't believe it either- Zoe and James in the dance-off again, and against Ali and Brian to boot. What is going on? I for one was sad to see them go, though not at the expense of Ali and Brian, I'm afraid.

Let's have your votes again please. Who were your favourites.

Jade and Ian
Ali and Brian
Chris and Ola
Ricky and Erin
Phil and Katya
Craig and Flavia
Laila and Anton
Ricky and Natalie
Natalie and Vincent

If you wish, let's hear your opinions on the effects the new voting rules are having on the competition as well.

I enjoyed Phil's tango tonight and ricky's rumba

the QS was fantastic

can live without Zoe, Laila, Craig and Natalie I'm afraid - none of them appear to be improving

Ali and Brian - gutted at them being in the dance off I wasn't surprised to see Zoe there when she was doing the samba (and a slow disco one at that) - i hate that dance.

And Ali and Brian still have it to do

Ricky W's QS was outstanding, but my loyalty still lies with Ali and Brian - I can see that their Paso would have been incredible if not for Ali's injury.

Jade and Ian are my next favourites.

RickyW & Natalie were the best by a clear margin this week.

Ali and Brian. Can't believe they were in the bottom two tonight!! I am loving a bit of Tuffers at the moment as well though!!

Ali and Brian and Jade and Ian are my joint favs.

No idea what went on tonight. Craig should have gone. He has no dancing ability at all and he is just so dull. At least JS was entertaining

Ricky and Natalie - I loved their quickstep!!

Natalie and Vincent - first to dance and full of infectious, youthful enthusiasm
Laila and Anton - a vision of effortless elegance - beautiful.
Jade and Ian - another lovely dance with a tad more attitude I thought.
Ricky and Natalie - I finally appreciated this couple dancing - it was fabulous I really liked the show of support and appreciation he received from all in Tess' room too inc the professionals.

The rest were just so-so for me - disappointed I didn't like Ricky and Erin's more but he kept randomly remembering about his neck and would jerk it upright when it dawned on him, but then I never have been a fan of the Rhumba either.
Tuffers' problem as one of the Judges said was the rhythm of the music and he kept moving his frame about in a sort of lilting motion when it was supposed to be level.
(Technical terms a la Bonnie)

(Apologies since I posted this elsewhere too):

The GBP are obviously (to me) voting for whoever needs saving from the bottom of the leaderboard - not realising that the top is the most dangerous place to be.

Of the two who ended up in the dance off, I felt Zoe should have been saved and the Judges except Alesha, did not vote for last night's performance as they should, but potential future performances.

My faves last night were Jade and Ian (even though Zoe and James were my all time faves).

I also enjoyed Phil's tango as well and for the first time I enjoyed a dance by Ricky and Natalie.

Can't believe the bottom 2 - was really surprised although neither couple danced their best routines last night.

......does Bruce realise he is kicking someone when they are down when he says "It's not a popularity contest"

Chris & Ola without a doubt..the best chemistry eventhough probably not the best moves...they are just so adorable together...

Other fav's: Ricky & Natalie ofcourse and I am developing a
'soft spot' for Vincent and his 'piccolina'.....Natalie's enthusiasm is just so infectious.

For me Craig & Flavia will have to go next week....had no hope what so ever.

jade and ian for me - love the partnership and she's improving all the time

I like the fact that she is herself and not pandering to the public

Jade & Ian

I agree with all of the above. She's showing steady improvement and is quietly getting on with it and learning to characterise the dance as well as learn the techniques. That came across last night. Some of the "better" dancers are not managing that so well. Gotta give Ian some credit there I suppose.
