He's been going on about how the VW was going to be the best dance ever seen in the history of SCD & unfortunately, it wasn't.

It was a good VW but wasn't perfect. I think he was expecting 40/40.

Poor Laila

I'm shocked they haven't had a trip to the dance-off yet. He should be pleased about that at least!

He better watch out, if he continues grinning the way he does, he might find himself there (the dance-off). Some of the veiwers could find his crazy grin offensive.

Well its his own fault for 'bigging up' the dance too much......I was expecting much more and it underwhelmed me.......it was a good dance but that was about it. As someone else said it must be their turn for a visit to the dance off

Not if they keep getting good marks and strong public support. Don't people understand that's what this programme's all about not the vested interest bile spewing out of tiny sections of these boards?!

I'm finding him a bit annoying this year. Plus, Laila must have felt very disappointed with the score after Anton made it out to be so wonderful.

Oh, blah, blah, blah.......! He's got a decent partner but no great shakes who's lacking in confidence and he's doing a very good job with her. What's the problem?! For goodness sakes, change the record.

With a better professional dancer and one who hadn't insulted her, Laila might have performed much better.

Even Laila knew enough to realise he was exaggerating.
Get a grip, Anton. We don't want to hear you bigging her up. Let your feet do the talking. 33 (or whatever it was) was more than enough.

That must be the reason why they got 33 our of 40 (82.5%), such a terrible score ? . And Laila must still be so upset about Anton insulting her thats why she stayed in the series and is planning to work with Anton after the series on another project.

I felt sorry for Laila, as well as Anton - talk about her face dropping, she shows her emotions like an open book bless her.

I feel sorry.

Anton did a damned good job tonight.

Feeling dispirited and sorry for Strictly though.

What vested interest do you have in mind?

You need to get a grip!

Don't be so aggressive and completely ignore what a poster says for your own grievances.

It's all about perspective.

Anyone watching ITT through the week knew from the banter in the training clips what that was all about.
They were funny moments with Laila giggling and making faces at the camera.
They were both relieved that the dance was going well and rather than give Laila a gold star he gave a tongue-in-cheek exaggerated critique including "it was the best ballroom dance ever in the history of 'Strictly'"

He won't see 40 again by the look of him, (not meant as a criticism, I'm over 60!)and that VW was a bit ambitious. This year he seems to be struggling to keep up the standard of previous years. It's OK going on reputation i.e. the ballroom king, but he can't live on that for ever.

I didn't feel in the least bit sorry for Anton. he would have had us believe it was better than it was. A bad case of over hyping a dance.

I see you only joined in April so probably don't realize that these forums are for opinions. Everyone is entitled to have one and if someone disagrees, thatn they are entitled to say so politely and constructively.
The points of your posts are being lost in the way you word them

I agree and, from he various takes on their rehearsals where they were joking with each other and obviously enjoying themselves, I got the impression that he was doing his best to encourage her and help her to get over their previous disaster. They obviously get on well together and enjoy dancing together.
