Matthew & Aliona - a sign of things to come?

Matt & Aliona's dance got me thinking. Perhaps SCD will add a new dance next year such as Street, hip-hop or Jazz to try & attract the younger viewers?

Hmmm?

Maybe, but can't really see it happening for some reason. I think it was just a fun and quirky pro dance that was intended to be a little different.

I thought it was flashy in not a particulary great way and I don't want to see dancing taken out of the huge demographic it is possible for now.

I was a disco diva in my time (untrained but totally fabulous darling) I don't want it to take over.

Disco is a youth dance. Latin and ballroom are for everyone.

Loved the Cha cha but thought that the samba was mindblowing! It was amazing to see Matt pushing himself and showing exactly how good and how versatile he is! The hallmark of a great dancer!

no - just because the pros can dance latin or ballroom does not mean they are qualified in other dance styles usually they have concentrated are the main two and so are not what matt did tonight was no way disco, hip hop or street dance

I think Aliona did a lot of Hip Hop back in New York, which was why it was mixed in - just as Kristina and Brian exhibited mambo (one of Kristina's specialities) last year.

Well I thought it breathed new life into the show last night.

Matthew unsurprisingly is getting loads of praise from his established fanbase, but for me Aliona was totally amazing.

She was on fire
