Ali may have been thought to be safe.

Expect her to get 4 tens off the judges next week. Or maybe more!

If you are talking about the general public - how do you know? Ali was probably thought to be safe last night.
Ricky has never been in a dance off also nobody knows how the public voting goes as they are all put through in no particular order!!

Speak for yourself. I'd like to see Ricky W, Ali. Jade and Chris (the middle of the road guy with personality and the potential to improve) as the final four.

Tuffers, Ricky G and Natalie would be my nightmare scenario. I liked Ricky G at the beginning but he's become totally unrealistic about his ability, Natalie got on my nerves with her plea for a'30' which the judges obligingly gave her and Tuffers should have stuck to being king of the jungle.

I think you'll have a hard job to see this scenario other than until you get right down until there are hardly any couples left in. You'll need a week where Jade or Laila in ballroom perform out of their skins for the judges not to place either Ricky W or Ali top of the leaderboard.

And if they place one or the other of Ricky W or Ali at the very top of the leaderboard each week (not place 2 or 3, but place 1), then the judges have great mathematical chances of avoiding a Ricky W vs Ali dance-off.

The judges will put Ricky W in the final, no matter what. There are some scenarios where Ali might lose their favouritism against Jade or possibly Laila on a really great week for her.

Yeah its a shame - Ali is by far my fave but i wont give the bbc (or any tv channel) my money in such a way.

I think this forum is completely out of touch with what the public in general think. Ali and Brian are popular on here, seemingly not with the rest of the public though. The same with Jade and Ian.

I also think Ricky is great and he deserves to go as far as possible.

To be honest I would hate to see either one of them in the dance off. Last nights show proved, yet again, it doesn't matter how well you dance no-one is safe. We all know at the very least Craig should have been in the dance off but yet again popularity seems to win over ability.
I loved Ricky's Quickstep, I thought it was fantastic. I think he is absolutely brilliant to watch. It will be a crying shame if he is not in the final but as each week passes I really think he will not make it there. I just don't get why he seems to be so unpopular (on this forum anyway) when he quite clearly is one of the best dancers on the show and performs well each week. Equally Ali is a great dancer, perfect lines, great choreography from Brian.
I would like to see Jade as one of the final three along with Ricky and Ali. I think Jade is improving week on week and Ian's choreography is spot on.
If Ali & Ricky W are in the danceoff then it would be a shambles. I for one wouldn't be happy to see either one of them to go so soon.

I don't have much money at the moment so limit myself to 2 votes each week. This week I spent them both on Jade as after last week I couldn't face her being in the dance off again....now I wish I had voted for either Ali or Zoe.

Well unfortunately for you I am speaking with more of the majority than you are at the moment as results have shown so far

You can't be certain of that the bookies had Joe as the favourite before the programme started and just because on these boards Ricky W isn't popular it doesn't mean he isn't popular with the public. Craig is getting slated on the boards yet he's still in people could have thought Ali was safe last night and didn't vote

Top 3 on Paddy Power are

Ricky W 4/6
Ali 3/1
Tuffers 9/1

My choice would be Jade, Tuffers & Chris. Ali & Ricky W just don't capture my attention.

Why is it unfortunate for me? You said that neither Ali or Ricky W would be missed. You obviously wouldn't miss them but others would. The results show nothing conclusive. We can only speculate as to why some dancers rather than others have been in the dance off. Ricky W's popularity has yet to be tested.

Ali is one of my faves and Ricky's quickstep with Natalie moved me to tears (well, I welled up!)....tough call last night and such a shame as Zoe is lovely...

I'd like to know how the OP knows how popular Ali and Ricky are. Making sweeping statements with no way to back them up is nothing short of ridiculous. OP you are stating your opinions as fact, do not presume to speak for me or anyone else, we can all give our opinions ourselves with having you force your own on us.

But then Jade may have been in the bottom two.

It`s pretty difficult to keep all three of them from the dance off unless one spends a small fortune!

May be wishful thinking on my part but I hope Ricky W.'s Quickstep on Saturday proves to be a game-changer for the GBP. I don't think it will on here - the dislike is too well-established and reinforced at every opportunity by some (I try to counter but don't seem to make any headway)

1. His father's VT - v. effective- lovely man "Richard" aaah! & his mentioning of military background might put into context Ricky's good manners - to my mind he's not being "'umble" - just polite. Possibly confounds some preconceived stereotyping.

2. The dance - much as I am loathe to admit, Ricky's previous dances, although technicially good (brilliant in my eyes) may have lacked that indefinable quality of joie de vivre. This QS, like Tom's Billy Elliott and his showdance, had it in spades. It made people smile.

3. The reaction from Tess's room - heartwarming and demonstrates how popular he is - James and Vincent were awesome. Ricky W. seems to be a genuinely nice & popular guy.

I might end up with a big eggy Apricot face - but I hope this dance is his breakthrough.

Also good week to do it - nightmare scenario about voting finally came to pass with two good dancers vs. one another. GBP might start to realise that a vote for a favourite personality who underperforms dance-wise is not without consequences. Can but hope....

Ricky danced wonderfully, agree with Apricot, it put me in mind of Tom too We all know that we are not that representative of the general public. He has never been in the dance off.

Ali I think danced wonderfully so I think a lot of people considered her safe this week. For many, the lack of paso aggression would have factored but with her bad foot she could hardly stamp about

Jade was fabulous, I loved Phil and Ricky G's performances.

Laila and Natalie both did well.

I thought it would be Zoe, but expected little Chris or Craig to be with her. Just goes to show!

No idea. I wasn't aware they were unpopular. Why? They seem genuinely nice people, are attractive and dance well. What more do people want?

It doesn't hurt for anyone to be in the dance off, depending on whom they are competing against.

I agree with this, and I'm a bloke! Austin brought a combination of ability and personality this is hard to beat.

Good though Tom was last year, his lapses into looking like Gussy Finknottle (of Jeeves and Wooster infamy) were just too much...

I'm with you Apricot. I really think Ricky deserves a bigger shout after that QS, and now the weight of the SCD machine is behind him, perhaps those votes will start rolling in.

Ali, I'm sorry to say, is not going to get any better than she is right now. She's just like Rachel Stevens last series - all elegance and style and no real passion. Not such a problem last series, when the personalities were thinner on the ground among the decent contenders, but this series it will be her undoing. I can see her not making the final.

Ricky, on the other hand, can capture the flavour of his dances and has the potential to do some truly show-stopping stuff, with a bit of rehearsal. He also has the advantage of a partner who will push him, rather than one who's been told to hold back and is now a little wary of overdoing the content.

So, Ali out in the semis and Ricky in the final...but will he win?

Seems to be only a matter of time before they 2 are dancing off together.I tell you something only one of them will make the final and whoever that is wont have chance of winning the whole thing
