I think she just hasn't pushed through to produce a great dance yet. I don't think people dislike her, they just aren't enthusiased by her - and why should they be. Everyone seems to be rating her on her potential but she hasnt' yet shown she can realise it.

Rachel was in a different category as after a shaky start she consistently started producing quality dances which still weren't appreciated by the voting public. Partly I think this was because of her quietness, refusal to stage gimmicks or to beg but it was also because people had already picked their favourates early and weren't interested in giving her a chance.

On the tour she was bound to win as the audience are more likely to be keener on dancing and she was clearly the best.

But Ali has the love angle gimmick, the stoic injury story etc... so all this may not apply.

Ali is lovely .. there's no reason to dislike her at all, but some of the men have got the 'cheeky chappy, vote for me, I'm giving it a go' appeal that makes thousands of people pick up the telephone. Ricky Groves, Phil Tufnell and Chris Hollins in particular are probably the housewives choice .. and will get the votes because let's face it .. they're not brilliant at dancing.. they're fairly mediocre ... people at home sense they may be in a vulnerable position.

It is ludicrous to think that the final may not contain Ricky Whittle .. though I think it will cos he would win out with the judges in any dance off. Ali will probably go when she comes up against him.

It's not a proper dance competition though is it. If it were they wouldn't allow Alesha on the panel and they wouldn't allow a viewers vote. So it's an entertainment show .. and when you ask people to spend money on voting they are going to vote for their faves regardless (and sometimes because) of whether they have danced badly or not.

I preferred Rachel's roboticism to Ali's moist eyes.
And that is really saying something.
I could warm a bit to Whittle perhaps but he does seem to be widely quoted as thinking he's God's gift. Now that could just be editorial bias but that sort of thing (even if inaccurate) winds people up.

You have to be kidding Ali is such a warm lovely sweet girl .. Rachel had simply nothing to say at all, the lights were on etc etc.

I've seen no evidence to show that Ricky W is arrogant .. and I'd prefer to use my eyes and judgement than believe the tabloids.

Remember they had it on good authority .. that Stephen Gateley had drunk a lethal cocktail of drugs and drink the night before he died ... the coroner however said different.

Well I got one half of my prediction right and Im sure combined Jade was not that far away from the bottom 2 despite finishing 3rd

I would say of all the dancers left Jade & Ali will have polled the least public votes in total over the last 7 weeks.

To me that makes them not very popular

Can I just remind you that Alesha was in a dance off and still won. At the moment, the judges wont choose anyone over Ricky. He's simply too good

Yes but in the final 3 the public will not pick him.

Remember Colin J & Zoe B

Bhoy , do you ever read and answer posts in your threads that dont suit your agenda .
Many posters have disagreed but you simply swan over them and ignore them .
Hardly a disscussion then is it

I think the problem with Ricky is that he started at a pretty high standard so doesn't have as much scope for improvement as some of the others. I like Ali and her partnership with Brian but she seems rather quiet and a bit dull compared to some of the other celebs so maybe gets overlooked when it comes to voting.

True

Perhaps not the best example but was just trying to say that being in the danceoff shouldnt prevent someone from winning.

To be honest, I dont know about this popularity thing but I think that the fevered atmosphere on this forum isnt replicated in the real world
