Spot for Superannuated Singers?
Why on earth is the singer spot on Strictly so frequently peopled by geriatrics? Andy Williams (just plain embarrassing) and last night the Bee Gees (miming if I'm not much mistaken) - oh puh-leeze! I'm allowed to be ageist, having entered my eighth decade, and I believe there are times when the aged should be neither seen nor heard, especially on a fizzy youthful show like Strictly. The token 'mature female' contestants (yes, including Cheri Lunghi) make me cringe and it really is time dear Bruce was put out to pasture.
By all means give more of a voice to older people on TV (a few programmes which actually interest us might be a good start) but don't show us trying to do things which the young do so much better. |

Those who appear on this programme only seem to do so if they've a tour or a record to promote. In which case, the BBC probably don't pay them a lot.
Actually, I'm quite surprised that this year IT2 hasn't been used as a "shopping channel" by invited guests who know naff all about dance, but have something to sell. |

Since the 1960's I have always wondered, when the Bee Gees sing, why someone doesn't do a hormone count on that one with the highest voice!!!

It has certainly not been the best series for the guest singers, except for Harry Connick Jnr its been dire!
