I thought Natalie's jive was terrific.

It wasn't the greatest jive technically - her feet were dreadful and I couldn't believe none of the judges mentioned them - but it was easily the most fun one produced by the celebs this series so far. I suspect that's the reason it got rather overpraised.

I actually think Natalie has some of the same problem as Zoe, in that she's not given any really constructive criticism - she needs to strengthen her core and 'finish' moves with her feet and hands a lot better. That said, she has plenty of rhythm and musicality and hasn't produced anything really bad, for my money.

While they're a great pairing and I don't think we could've given her another partner, part of the problem with Natalie's appearance is Vincent, who is so tiny and graceful he makes her rather indelicate movements look more lumpen than they otherwise might.

I don't think she's the least talented celeb out there by any means, but without realising she's got stuff to work on, she isn't going to get any better. And if you don't want to get better for yourself (rather than because you think you're a contender) you'll never get anywhere.

Even that is so fake. What a ghastly gusher she is!

She's heavy footed with flat feet, no core strength, no grace and no fluidity. It's got nothing to with her weight, she is simply ungainly and hasn't got much talent.

She also only has two expressions when dancing. In ballroom she sitcks her nose in the air and purses her mouth like a spinster aunt sucking lemons, and in everything else she dances slack jawed with her gob wide open. Not a clue. Awful to watch.

Time she went. Nice girl, zero talent.”

Why can others always say what I want to say , and put it better !!!!

I enjoyed it and 30 seemed about right.

I'm sorry but that is like saying that only people who know how to do something can be free to make remarks about others - e.g. only people who can act can say if someone is a good actor/ only someone who can play the guitar can comment on a guitarist's ability etc etc etc

We can all see what makes a good dancer

Ab40 - you usually put your case very well - remember?

Hope to see you back in 'the proper forum' when CBB starts

I think that was a lot of the problem
To me, it wasn't worth a 30 ... whatever the engery levels, which I felt flagged half way anyway ... her feet looked ugly

But they marked it 30 and then had to over mark other, better dances to get the leader board position right.

Generally, for the casual watcher it's the comments and the individual scores people remember, not the leader board placings and the judges make a rod for their own back with those.

Nat Cassidy's jive was mediocre at best. She has no natural dance ability and isn't light on her feet. I'm glad others are thinking similar to me - it's as if the judges are unwilling to be in any way critical because of her size. Sorry, but that's just favouritism. Why is it when Cassidy, for about the 8th week running, comes out with the same, trite, 'I'm just giving it my best shot which is all I can do' everyone goes 'Ahhhhhhhh'. Yet Tufnell points out how much he has trained, and is giving it his best, and he gets roundly slaughtered.
No wonder Strictly's ratings are going down the toilet - the judges are totally out of touch with what the public are thinking after watching the celebs dance.

Tufnell gets slaughtered when he points out how much he has trained because it's really not very much.

incorrect - he and Katya were the only ones to train on the Sunday last week, but this gets subtly swept under the carpet. He has been criticised week in, week out while the panel has raved about Nat Cassidy. It's hardly a level playing field. And Tufnell is a far superior dancer to Cassidy.

But like they said... it doesn't matter when you train, it's the hours that matter. I heard him say that he trained 12 hours (someone on here said 8?) while the judges said that others have trained 24. Did I mishear?

I also don't consider him "far superior".

Really? As Tess said Laila and Anton were the ones who trained on Sunday last week...of course it is Tess so who knows

In the real world it would be worth about 15 but this is SCD and Len can't vote less then a 6.

She is being marked up for her personality.

I do wish she would close her mouth more, she looked like a panting dog on Saturday night.

It's been said on ITT that he wasn't doing much training - not sure of the numbers but well down compared to everyone else.
Katya made the remark that it's not the time spent but how you use it. (parap.)

I loved Natalie and Vincent's Jive and I'm sorry but if Ali and Brian can get 33 for walking around delicately in a Paso.........

I know her foot was injured but so were Phil's and Ricky W's knees previously and then there was Ricky G's flu and.........

I too enjoyed their jive. It was a lively, foot tapping start to the show, with a piece of appropriate music, which is more than can be said for some of the other music choices ! I'm glad they got a 30, if only for Vincent's sake, because last year I don't think he had a score lower than 30 with Rachel.

No, 7's were all that dance deserved as it looked slow and stompy in places, she only got 30 thought because she has been going on and on about it, much like Craig and his obsession with Blackpool.

All the celebs who hadn't yet reached a score of 30 made a vid 'wishing' for one - it was that week's thang
What name??

I think it has got to the stage where their comments about her being a trier are patronizing. I think she actually has potential, she is improving and she is working hard. At this stage they could treat her like as equal to the other competitors and give her some constructive criticism, and realistic scores as this can give her areas to work on. I think they can afford to do this even if they like her as she is popular so isn’t really at much risk at the moment. I don’t think it was overmarked by much I think it was probably worth 28 ie 7s at most as she did get the spirit of the dance.

I enjoyed it and thought 30 was deserved.

Also spotted Camilla Dallerup live tweeting that she thought Natalie deserved 8s

Not sure if it was any good, but it made me smile - and she did put her heart and soul into it.

I know nothing about the technique of dance but I did enjoy this performance. The song choice helped by creating the right sort of atmosphere and it was danced with enthusiasm and energy. You can't help liking Natalies attitudie and sheer enjoyment of it all and I'm pleased she achieved her goal of a 30, after all Craig managed to get Blackpool so it only seems fair.
