Why is everyone blaming Craig for Zoe leaving

I don't blame Craig, but he is, by some way, the worst dancer left in the competition. Yes, he is a nice guy, tries his hardest and is from Blackpool. But that is no reason to stay in the competition. But you cannot blame him for that, just like you can't blame Zoe's professional dancer for being the most despised.

Don't blame me, I didn't vote and I am not complaining that Zoe went. I'm a fence sitter at the moment

Yes, but what sort of sad, empty lives must people have if someone like Craig is their favourite??

This reminds me of a friend of mine who always chose the coffee cream chocolate from the box, even though she didn't like coffee.... she thought it was her favourite.... it transpired she had 6 siblings all more assertive than her, and coffee cream was all that was ever left for her, so she learned to love it.

I've no idea what sort of lives Craig's supporter's lead but I wouldn't mock or ridule them just because their favourite happens to be different to mine.

It's only a TV show at the end of the day.

Look, I'm trying to save the world from the coffee cream here. Its important work, go away and be reasonable with someone else.

I think its probably because he didn't stop going on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about wanting to go to Blackpool

They have to say something. The BBC give them a story and probe them about it and edit it and shove it down our throats.

They all blabbed on about Blackpool - not just Craig.

He has said something memorable and that is quoted. What has Ricky W ever said that anyone can remember?

Nothing. I don't care. He can dance. His 90 seconds on the dance floor don't require a 3 hour back/sob story about anything to prop it up.

I'm too 'big' for the trousers they gave me?

Was he the one who stated categorically that he wasn't going to wear pink as well? Because that bothered me, whoever it was that said it...

can i just say i really liked the coffee creams i miss them

Craig is doing his best, ok he has an overinflated sense of his own ability but its his job to promote himself and keep himself in the competition , wouldnt everyone complain more if all the poor dancers who got a few weeks into the competition gave up like JS did , they'd surely then complain that it was up to the public whether to keep them in or not
the fact is, it is up to the GBP so its no one elses fault

I can hardly believe that ANYONE could like Craig. He is talentless, charmless and confused. He actually thinks that he is a good dancer! Yes, really!! And thinks that he dances well in practise but performs less well on the dancefloor. This is utter rubbish - we have seen him stumbling around the studio trying to perform on ITT.

There's liking him, and there's thinking he's the best (or even a good) dancer. I really like him - I've been a fan of him as an actor for years, and I like his personality. I also admire how much he tries when it comes to his 'dancing'. I'd like to see him get to Blackpool because it does seem to mean a lot to him.

I don't think he's a particularly good dancer, but he's the only one I've voted for in the competition so far. As Tess says, it's vote 'for your favourite', not vote for the best dancer.

I don't DISlike him. And, as last year, the more harsh the judges are toward him the more support he'll get.

He seems to be trying hard so leave him alone!

I don't think he said that - did he? Only that he thinks he can dance. None of them are good dancers, some are just better than others. And those that are better I'm finding really boring to watch this year. SCD is way, way too long now, and I have a terrible fear that once Craig and Phil go I'll be stuck watching mediocre celebrities battling it out for the title for another 2 months! With Craig at least there is an element of fear involved - will he or not he manage to get through the dance without making a complete fool of himself. That's why I would vote for him (if I could). Nothing to do with Blackpool, his birthday, his being a soap star or anything else.

So please give Craig a break and have a go at one of the others.”

I'm not aware of any hate campaigns on DS - although I would imagine they are rife on the BBC website ...

As I have made clear in other posts, I do not blame Craig. I blame the producers, who hyped up 'Craig must go to Blackpool' beyond all belief. They must know what the effect of this would be - after all, they will have access to the public vote - so why go completely OTT then seal Craig's fate by letting Bruno rip him to shreds?

I really was expecting better this year from the show's producers after last year's stupidity. Clearly I should have not got my hopes up.

Hi Servalan

Its not so much of a hate campaign but his name comes up on every thread about Zoe and Ali being in the bottom two. I just think its unfair that he is being singled out when there were others below them on the leader board. Bruno definitely contributed to Craig staying as he was extremely rude to him and people don't like that.

I think they person responsible for Zoe leaving is the same person who let Gabby Logan and Cherie Lunghi down. The producers let go world champion female pros for not be 20 something and dressing like a hooker, but a man who cannot choreograph decent routine that suit his partner can stay.

I can see what you mean Servalan but Craig was at the very bottom of the below ones and thats why his name is brought up. Its not personal to him!

Yes i know Ricky was there too but it was a bit of an aberration for him and he had the Rhumba as opposed to the notoriously easy to sell waltz.

Gabby Logan, Cherie Lunghi and now Zoe Lucker. Face it, the public just cannot warm to James Jordan and his partners always suffer.

So it's really Georgina Bouvova's fault Seriously though James gets one partner he didn't get on with and he never gets a shot at winning again. He's stuck in a vicious circle with the public never voting for him and he when he gets angry about it like last year then that puts even more people off him. I feel sorry for the bloke I mean Brendan's behaved like more of a tit in my book but he was luckier because he didn't get partnered with Sarah Manners first and first impressions always last.

He shoulda done more to show her and her personality off tbh.

There was nothing memorable about her in the entire show.

Suprised cause thought she woulda been more fiery and spicier.

Your post highlights a problem I suspect some of the audience had with Zoe: they expected her to be 'queen bitch' after seeing her in Footballers' Wives ... and when she wasn't, they lost interest.

However good she was technically, there wasn't enough very obviously going on personality-wise for most people ... I'd personally disagree - I actually thought she was quite funny in some of the VT clips - but next to much bigger characters like Phil, Ricky G and Natalie, it's easy to see why the public didn't engage with her.
