The Strictly Come Dancing professionals are reportedly angry after learning that they will be paid less than the celebrities for the upcoming tour.

According to the News of the World, the celebrities will be paid £11,000 a week for the tour, while the professional dancers will only receive £5,500 per week.

The show's organisers have reportedly been forced to delay the lineup while they try to resolve the dispute.

"Yet again, it's one law for the celebs and another for us dancers," one of the professionals said. "Often dancers are bigger stars than the celebs. Take Ola Jordan - she is a far bigger draw than, say, Lynda Bellingham. We feel like we are being treated as second-class citizens.

"We think we should be getting more than last year and our pay should be more in line with the celebrities."

Meanwhile, a BBC source said: "There was some disquiet from a minority of the dancers about the level of pay. But the tour will go ahead as planned and be brilliant."

The Strictly live tour begins in January and will last for six weeks.

This is why some of the pros don't do the tour they can earn more money doing other stuff

They should rotate Pro's on the show anyway.We have been no worse off without Karen, Nicole, Camilla or any of those who did a season and left. I like getting to know new Pro's and they should be rotated and others given a chance to show us what they can do. That would give a bigger bank to choose from for the tour and the price would not be so high.

I can see why they'd be annoyed but it'll annoy some if not most of the public who can only ever dream of earning £5, 500 in a week

Thankfully theres been no names mentioned - yet - but i would imagine they've maybe all got together to make their feelings heard. If its just one or two of them then yes we may see the end of some of our favourite pros if they are rocking the boat too much.

Well on the face of it £5K per week for 6 weeks seems a lot dont it?? BUT- we dont know if this figure is accurate- and it could be the DISPARTY btw the celebs and the pro is partly what is geting their backs up...

Pro's do Strictly for the exposure dont they?? Im not convinced that when pro's leave Strictly they will be particularly remembered by the public say 3-5 years down the line. The general public seems to believe thatCelebs are only believed to be working when they are on TV!

IF the wages mentioned in the papers for the SCD SHOW are accurate, then yes, they arent much for what could potentially be 5 months work (starts training in Aug- finals in Dec), but for the ability to get work AROUND the rest of the year, the publicity is surely priceless!!

Does this mean Lynda is doing the tour?

The BBC has to save every penny where they can, to find the money for a very good cause i.e the £6,000,000 needed to fund the Joanathon Ross .
