When I hear her sing I can imagine her singing some old carpenters tune! Dunno why. Maybe if they do a retro week!

Maybe that's the direction they should take her in. Because she can't hit the high belting notes of Leona and Alexandra.

She has a nice voice but Karen Carpenter had a two or three octave range I think Lucie is challenged enough with one

Yeah, I guess it might be a bit of a stretch for her to actually sing just like Karen Carpenter. She does seem to sing well in her lower range tho, so it'd be cool if they could find her a song to exploit that.

I was a bit 'meh' towards Lucie at the beginning. Lovely voice, seemingly pleasant girl, but I've grown to like her more and more. I don't think she gets the praise she deserves.
She's no Karen Carpenter, but I hope she does well in the competition. |

Karen Carpenter has one of the most melodious singing voices ever. Lucie is weak and has no passion in her performances. She is nothing like Karen Carpenter IMHO.

In a word: NO.
Karen Carpenter, aside from having an incredible voice, also had an authentic melancholic quality to her singing that was deeply engaging to the listener. Lucie has NONE OF THAT. But also, Lucie doesn't have the range and a song like Rainy Days and Mondays probably rests right in her break. |

Sarah from Same Difference sounded similar to Karen Carpenter (in a few tracks on the album)
Lucie does not. |

i think you might offend a few of karen' s fans here OP,(and i'm one of them too
)i think i know what you meant, and you probably worded the thread incorrectlyi happen to think that a Carpenters track would suite Lucie well,as she's not a 'diva' type but can hold a tune well,it would definately 'show off' her vocals |

Only slightly!
I know who she looks like though; Brooke Vincent who plays Sophie Webster in Corrie! http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/eT4qN...Brooke+Vincent |

I think she is an average singer right now, her best week was probably this Saturday as at least she looked better and had a bit more personality about her, but her voice is just not for me. She seems a sweet enough young lady though, and I do not think she will leave the show this week.
