Doesn't sound terribly exciting if I'm honest. Hope the finished product is better than it seems now.

Very exciting well done that man! -US legal drama/comedy sounds pretty tested territory for NBC -from the director of 'Life' and 'Heroes' ..hopefully this will do really well for David!

Great to see he's got this chance anyway his talent deserves it imo .

We were all wondering on David's forum if he was filming something when he was spotted in LA several times in October -now we know ..
David signed to Universal Media Studios -thats

Sounds alright. Puts his face out there I guess. You may be right, it is NBC after all, but work's work.

Doesnt sound brilliant but if its written with enough imagination and talent then you never know. will be interesting to see dt in another role again.

Anyone else notice the horrible inaccuracy in the Digital Spy story?

I'm guessing he'll be made to do an American accent for this. Just hope he sounds different to his incarnation of the Doctor and they don't want a mockney accent

Rex could be a Scot or Englishman living in Chicago but I agree could be a US accent -looking forward to finding out .

Maybe John Barrowman can give David some voice coaching - after all, he usually uses an American accent in public, but like DT actually uses a Scottish accent at home.

Bets are now open on how many years it will be before Tennant's face starts appearing on panto posters alongside the dreaded phrase: "TV's Doctor Who"

I see Jeffrey Tambor has been cast with DT in the pilot for Rex

Wonder who will play Rex's Mum .

Not a wholly authentic one, but near enough.

David aknowledge the bravity of his decision in a recent W.O.M interview.

Though he used he word stupidity.

He already has appeared in a Panto...and already gets the phrase TV's Doctor Who thrown at him....the only thing annoying about that is the Who bit....It's "the Doctor" for goodness sake!!!!!

All in all, no matter what he does now, chances are that his role as the Doctor will always be the one he is remembered for most....just like all the cators that have played the role before him.

Aww Rex is to have a fiancee -that should be a fun storyline -and David's always brilliant with his female co-stars

My understanding is that his public accent is his own natural accent, the product of growing up in the United States, and that his Scottish accent is something that kicks in around his parents.

There are as many regional accents in the United States as there are in the UK. I've noticed that Brits tend to be far more critical of British actors' American accents than Americans are. I've heard accents savaged here where I had no inkling the actor wasn't American. (Granted, I'm not American, but I certainly have a lot more exposure to American accents than British people do).

On the other hand, Dexter Fletcher's supposedly "so good fans thought he was American" accent in Press Gang and (in one episode) Hotel Babylon was absolutely appalling.

Casting news- Jane Curtain has joined the show as Rex's mum, Sindhal Ramamurthy (Heroes) as his best friend and fellow lawyer.

The cast for Rex is looking good imo -exciting

So, Mohinder isn't sticking around in "Heroes" or more likely, "Heroes" isn't sticking around!

The story said (and I don't recall the proper wording) that it's secondary to his role in Heroes. They have first claim on him if they're still around and want him. However, since both shows are from the same studio and network, it doesn't seem like they expect him to be working on Heroes next year.

Now on the pessimistic side of things, given that it's an NBC studios show for NBC we can also assume:

1. Chances of it going to series are excellent.
2. Chances of it attracting an audience are slim.

”

3. Chances of it going the same way as the new Knight Rider series ... possibly quite high.
