According to The Sun (that source of all knowledge and accuracy! ) Cheryl's little darling Joe only narrowly escaped the sing-off.

For someone who is currently second favourite with the bookies doesn't that seem a bit strange?

That is based on the 10,000 calls people made for free on a site called free2call (or a similar name... not sure)

People have been known to vote over 50 times for their fav.. because it's free. Because of that... these figures are most likely completely wrong.

I wouldn't agree I think he'll be in the final.

Why so? Surely it evens itself out?

Because if the vote isn't free then you will vote less often

Alexandra Burke narrowly missed the Bottom 2, one week last year & only topped the phone votes twice , one of which was the final so I wouldn't get too stressed about this.

Getting a Joe in the bottom 2, providing he survives, would wake up the public to start voting which is what the competition desperately needs to happen to end all the nonsense re the Twins , Danyl , Mrs Smith from number 32 etc .

What percentage of the viewers would have known about that free phone number? Even if they did, why bother when the votes don't count for anything? I really can't see that one number with a different audience would produce accuracy.

Further developing your logic (not that you use any) ... it is equally possible that Joe's supporters are less well off, more likely to use a free voting system, ergo he is deeper in the mire because even then he only just avoided the cut.

It wouldn't surprise me if Joe was in trouble, seeing as he is one of the few acts that can actually sing this year.

The motto of X-F 6: If you can't sing, we (GBP) will vote to keep you in!

The votes DO count. They are part of the overall votes cast each week & contibute to who ends up in the Bottom 2.

They are 1 way to vote each week but not the only way.

He's one of the weakest acts left - wouldn't surprise me at all...

I like Joe. He's a good singer but he's not really my cup of tea.

As much as Cheryl raves about her 'little Joe' I feel that this year she doesn't really care that much about her acts. Last year I felt that she, like Dannii, had genuine regard for the contestants she mentored, but I just don;t get that vibe this year.

I believe this year is very close, with the Twins way out in front. Anyone bar them can up in the Bottom 2.

I wouldn't agree. Along with Ollie i'd say he was the most consistent act left. Perhaps he is a bit bland but he hasn't had a bad performance yet. I can see him being in the final.

There's only so long that can last though. It'll get more serious soon and hopefully they'll end up in the bottom 2.

I agree with that. Also I can't see her ever mentoring the Overs or the Groups. I just dont think she'd be able to do it.

He was also on first, which doesn't always help with voting.

Plus he sang a song which, although great, wasn't a hit in the UK.

I have been wondering if Cheryl has been too busy on her own singing career this year to put enough into her acts. Don't know how true it is, but Rikki said after he was voted out that it was them having to mentor and support her due to performing the following night.

I wasn't too supportive of Joe being put through to the live shows, totally changed my mind after wicked performance in week 1, then since then he's just been blah.

So yes, I think it is entirely plausible that he is low in the voting.

I believe one of the judges said he was stage school and I agree. I think he has a great voice, but more suited to musical theatre than pop stardom.

Simon said that and I agree.

Joe reminds me of Gareth Gates and he eventually found himself in MT, I think that's what Joe is essentially training for on his course.

I predicted Joe as the winner at boot camp, but I am starting to wonder whether he has the kind of voice that translates in this kind of show.

I think if Joe won it would be another Leon type win. He'll fade into obscurity in no time because he doesn't, i feel have the personality to carry him through. Olly on the other hand would be able to carve out a career coz of his cheeky chappy attitude. I predict Joe, Olly and Stacie in the final three...Olly just pipping Joe to the post.

Joe does seem like a lovely sweet boy, but unfortunately I think he's a little too camp to ever fully engage the full demographic of the voters.

That's the thing about Joe. I really do like him and he has a good voice but i can't see him having a long career in the industry. Perhaps as someone else said, he should go down the musical theatre route like Gareth Gates and Ray Quinn have done.
