Is the credit crunch affecting the voting this year?

I wonder if the total number of votes are down this year. They appeared so for BB earlier in the year - a few votes decided who went rather than a landslide that we had in the past.

At 35p per call - I suggest voters are presuming the 'top' dancers are safe and using their reduced budget to keep in their 'entertaining' favourites.

If this continues then the judges rank order is having little or no effect on the actual outcome.

Any comments?

I'd say that the very short voting period has more to do with it. If you pause to go to the loo or put the kids to bed or something then you may well miss the time to vote.

What credit crunch? Plenty of goods and services are a lot cheaper and money goes further.

Not as much mad cow disease.

Mad cows shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Unless you can prove that people with less disposable income are more likely to vote for the "talent" couples, I wouldn't really think it would be.

For me the reason for not voting yet is not credit crunch - is boredom. Frankly, this year I don't care that much for the program. I'll still watch it, take a look at the forum now and then, but last Saturday I even forgot it was on. I didn't vote for anybody yet since I don't care enough about any of the dancers to be bothered making a call. And I'm hearing the same comment from a lot of people this year - no wonder the ratings are down.
