Time to rename 'X-Factor' as 'PG-Factor'

I always understood the 'X-Factor' was about finding singers/performers/entertainers who had that certain something that made their singing talent irresistible to the public. This meant that it was not necessarily about youth or looks but exciting and emotional viewing.

What is has become is a 'teen talent show' with more emphasis on appearance and marketability than singing talent. It's only about whether they fit the recording mould. Frank Sinatra would stand no chance.

Be honest Simon/Louis call it the 'PG-Factor' and abandon the over 25 category.

Doesn't "marketability" depend on having "something that makes their singing talent irresistable to the public"? After all, somebody who doesn't appeal to the public is clearly not marketable.

Actually id rather see "Monkeh" do a song than J&E. at least "Monkeh" can sing.

Ah well, that's where you went wrong, mate!

X Factor is basically about 2 things: finding someone Simon can flog to America, and inflating his own ego.
