I'm not all that knowledgeable about how it would affect the release of the winner's single, so bear with me, but if Danyl and Lloyd are ill - two acts who have been in the bottom two the last two weeks - we only have six acts left to perform! I could understand them letting Diana through last year as she hadn't been in the bottom and there was only one of her, but it's not the same situation this time. It's not fair on the others :/

Solution - postpone the show until everyone's better next week. Simple!

And people are saying Jedward are ill now. Seriously?!

It's not the winners single that is the problem. It's the millions of pounds in advertising spots which have already been sold and production costs which have already been paid and schedules already planned. ITV would never let the producers postpone it, it would be a nightmare.

Plus, Simon wouldn't want to lose the Christmas #1 which would happen if they didn't do the final until the 20th.

Sorry if it's a bit of a silly suggestion Just thinking things over and it made sense to me

This is not fair on the other acts.
It would stop them from going out ahead of a less popular act, though, which would be even less fair imo :/

And wouldn't the advert slots get pulled back to the week after too? I don't know how to answer the point about Xmas No. 1 though.

I''ve not seen anything about the twins. Link, anyone?

They wouldn't just shift averything back a week - But they could knock out two next week instead.

If they did do this then surely two acts would have to leave the week after or just have a final with one extra act than planned in?

If they're not fine by Saturday, let the other acts perform, but have a non elimination week ?

That would be unfair on the two they knock out because they would not be givin a chance in the bottom two.

Its unfair all around...

I saw someone post it on another thread... I think it might be linked to the story about them being ill last week, though.

Unreality TV are now suggesting OLLY could be ill...

This is insane!

They could have a bottom three and knock out two? Maybe?

Is there actually going to be anyone left standing for the weekend?

Is this the plague of nits we're talking about or some other malady doing the rounds of the contestants?

It's amazing to me how people fail to realise that this show is all about MONEY. ITV ad revenues are already up £20 M - just because of X Factor. They're not going to postpone the show and forego all that revenue.

It's a brand. It's not about a single performer.

They all seem to have throat infections (Lloyd, Danyl and Olly). Although, as Mitacond said, it could all just be publicity.

I think they would postpone if every contestant was ill or more than half.

The only person who we know to be ill is Lloyd.
He is the only one i think there could be a chance of getting a free pass...
