The spec does not mention wifi. I would not buy a phone without it as there are plenty of free hotspots nowadays.

Nokia 5800 or 5530 as alternatives?

Depends what you want in the phone really. The 2 main features of the pulse are the internet and the app market. If you arent going to use either of them then you may as well stick with your arena for the far superior camera. However if you are going to use the internet thens its pretty damn good to be honest as have all the android phones so far been.

Not many hotspots in all areas of the country, certainly not here where we struggle with 1.5 M connection still

Oh to live in a city or big town ...

In case it's of any help to anyone.

I'm on Virgin for my mobile. Was PAYG but switched to contract when there was a good deal on. No change of Sim or phone number.

I went into the T-Mobile shop on Saturday and they let me try my Virgin Sim in the T-Mobile Pulse.

It worked without any unlock codes or workarounds. We tried ringing the shop and it worked fine.

I'd read differing reports about T-Mobile agreeing to unlock the phone after 28 days or 3 months so thought I would ask in store. The member of staff said it was worth a try as Virgin used T-Mobile as a carrier.

And it was the last one in stock

Anyone bought this phone? Its now £99.00 plus £10 top up. Is this a good deal?

http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/pay-a...le-pulse-payg/

I just want a cheap PAYG Android phone. I also want to get the odd app as well. I don't expect a Hero or Desire quality phone.

What's the Internet rate mean, when they say £1 a day? If I use the Internet today, would I pay £1 but if I don't tomorrow, do I pay nothing?

I should get £50 for my old Motorola T500 as the person who wants it, wants a clam shell phone, so I thought I might give this a go.

What's the difference with the mini version?

Thanks

I was in the same boat looking for an android payg for my son. Looked at the pulse but ended up getting an unlocked G1 from Ebay (£80) and upgrading it to v2.1. I have to say I am very impressed with it so much so, dumping my phone to get an android phone.
