Is Gail real???
Has Gail gone mad or what?
Is she meant to be turning into " poison Ivy " ? One thing I do know is that her fawning over sicky Nicky is making me heave! I hope that someone gives her a good slap soon!!

Poor Gail!
Personally I find this whole manipulative streak quite funny, especially as Nick is too thick to realise what she's doing!! I know that he & Maria eventually move out & Sarah tries to patch things up between her Mum & Nick but it will be interesting to see just how far she's going to go in trying to keep Nick tied to her apron strings.

Isn't this another case of inconsistent personality syndrome though. I mean, Gail was quite happy for Nick to go off and live in Canade, he was only 15 when he first went, and she wasn't sure he was coming back either.

You have to remember that Gail & martin were together at the point & now she's on her own. Since Richard she's obviously desperate to keep the whole family together at any costs. I think she's frightened at the thought of being alone for the first time in her life. |

If she does become Ivy II
I wonder if she will go the whole hog and get the famous "Lynne Perrie" trout pout ??? Can't make her look any more ugly than she already does !

Did anyone else see that smug look she had last night when Maria said she was leaving?? Classic stuff!!!! |

Up until this week I've felt quite sorry for Gail but she's turning into a right interfering old cow isn't she. Does anyoune else think she looks older than Audrey? the woman supposed to be her mother? lol
Nick is a dumb blonde, he wouldn't be able to see mumsie is clearly manipulating him and causing trouble for Maria. All looks, no personality or smarts lol It's good though, Helen Worth is a good actress and she always invokes a reaction from whatever storyline she has. But I did feel a bit queasy watching her fawn over Nick tonight in the hospital, I was almost waiting for her to kiss him! Gross! |

I wonder what Gail would have said if the writers had decided to turn him gay & he'd taken that "kiss" with Todd further?

She'd have probably been alright about it as he's her Golden Boy but as with Maria, she would probably have interfered there too. It seems nobody in Coronation Street, Weatherfield or indeed Canada is good enough for ickle Nicky lol I do hope Corrie don't do what Eastenders did with Steve Owen and his mother and we see Gail attempting to snog him! I couldnt bare it! lol

I couldnt bare it! lol Lil' Nicky is Gail's first born. She just wants to keep him tied to her apron strings & keep him away from any nasty gurlies that might hurt him!!! Gail seems incapable of letting go. She seems to think that all her offspring are still kids who need her protection rather tah adults. Although if she'd have taken a firmer line with Sarah her life might not be so much of a disaster area!

Gail, though - hand me the shotgun, I'd gladly pull the trigger!!

my argument against gail was always to do with her hair (ie. her mother owns a salon, yet she looks like a throwback from 70s liverpool) but after 'norman bates with a briefcase' i will have nothing bad said against her! her son on the other hand (sorry - know its off topic) is the most painful piece of on screen dross since, well, ever. the fact that the scriptwriters included a storyline about his mother buying him shirts which conveniently involved him taking his top off in the middle of the street just goes to show that this pitiful excuse for an 'pretty boy' - and hes not even that pretty - is perhaps the worst thing to happen to soap since ken barlow refused to be cryogenically frozen for all eternity... oh no sorry, he did agree to it and the results are displayed too many times a week. i remember sally and kevin getting married for the umpteenth time and ken made an appearance on the street to say congrats for no reason (he just was not needed to be there) but because hes 'mr coronation street' he of course had to make an appearance. its like the bitchy politics of amateur dramatics but with an audience of millions!!

i know... part of me wishes she had never got out of that terrible excuse for an underwater film shoot (anyone who lives in manchester will know when you go in that water, you aint coming out) but on the other hand, who would be there to irritate me if she hadnt... oh yeah, martin and dyke power-girl katie... new thread warranted...

LOL!
I like Gail & Helen Worth plays her to perfection. She's the sort of character that's meant to irritate you, but she also has moments were you feel really sorry for her. I particularly like the way that she'd managed to split Nick & Maria up without actually saying anything really nasty to Nick about Maria. Given how Ivy used to interfere with her & "'R Brian" it seems that history is repeating itself! |

Aah an the penny finally drops for Nick, well about time! I have to say, slightly freaked out by Gail at the moment. "She'll never love you like I can!" I should bloody well hope not! lol If I were David, I'd be keeping one eye on the door too, but things shouldn't be too bad, as far as we can tell, Sarah and Bethany should be toddling back across the Street any day now lol
