Hi,
Am in a rolling month to month contract with o2 just now and looking for a better deal. Have seen not too bad deals on nokia 5800 with virgin and 3 (22 quid for unlimited texts, internet and 400 min, 24 month contract...slightly more money and slightly less goodies for 18 month contract).

Phoned o2 and told them and asked if they can match or will leave. More or less said well, no they can't (they are charging at least 8 or 9 quid more and refuse to budge). They are telling me, not in so many words, that 3 and Virgin both use 3rd party networks (am assuming they are talking about phone masts) and therefore they are crap and o2 are magnificent. Ok, not exactly but you get the gist. Can anyone on these networks tell me if they are reliable? Or any more/less reliable than the big 3 of orange, vodafone and o2? Or can anyone recommend somewhere to go to get above kind of deal?

I hate shopping for new mobile but o2 are cheesing me off for various reasons and it is time for a change.

Thanking you

virgin use t-mobile so if you have good signal with t-mobile in your area you can use virgin plus soon orange will turn in to t-mobile or the other way round giving virgin amazing coverage. if you was to pick from 3 or virgin i would go virgin they have for 9 years now been best customer service and they offer good deals.

For 3G access, Three use their own network. Its only for 2G when they use someone else, which is Orange I believe, used to be o2.

Im with Three and never have any issues with 3G signal. Although I was in Sheffield recently, couldn't even get proper 2G reception there! S7 postcode area.

I've been with Virgin for a couple of years and although I get a really great deal I have real problems with their signal - I had barely none or an extremely weak signal from June until the end of October. Seems to happen every summer too I did get fully compensated and their customer service is always good
