Recording From Built In Freeview - Help!
Hi,
I know this is possible by connecting scart to a recorder but having problems actually doing this. I have a Toshiba 37RV635 (this tv actually has a menu option to set a timer to record off the in-built tuner so I'm sure the TV outputs signal) and a Panasonic DMR e-50. DVDR When I connect the two via Scart and and go into the tuner menu on the DVDR and scan it doesn't pick up any signal. I have two scarts connected, one for input and one for output. Yes I know could buy a PVR or a separate freeview box but It's really for very occasional use and I already have enough equipment and literally no room for anymore. |

You only need one (fully wired) SCART lead connecting AV1 of the DVDR to (normally) AV2 of the TV. To record from the TV to the DVDR you need to set the source on the DVDR to AV1 (which Panasonic may actually call something else). There will be a button on the DVDR remote called Source or Input or AV or some such to do this or try pressing the channel selector on the remote to go down from BBC2 to BBC1 to ?
The DVDR tuner will not pick up the signal being sent out by the TV as it is not a UHF modulated signal. |

![]() So if I read you right it will record the signal to disc but won't pick it up via the tuner? |
